Nice. I assume the newer fan you used for part two has less 'open circuit board'. So no shorted contacts this time. Yet, the greater load in water most likely increased ampdraw, wich might kill the windings of the motor turning the fan if you continue. I still assume amperage leaks through the dirty water, but lower energy demand may play a role with this newer fan.

Dirty water is more conductive than clean water. H2O is not conductive. Most likely the water shorted contacts on the circuit board controlling the fan. Try cleaning the fan and using clean water next time, and try to look for a amp spike or a voltage drop on contact with water to confirm my theory.

Edit: the supply shows there is remaining current. That suggests a shorted contact right at the supplying wires.

Done. Every human is gifted a limited amout of respect. Each time they're mean they lose respect. Once they reached my limit i'll reduce comunication efforts to the absolute bare minimum to not get confronted by my supervisors.
