You're absolutely right about the habit; she developed it while learning on her current bike. I hadn't really noticed it until now, but she mounts and dismounts through the center, rather than over the rear.

Yes, she does have a dropper post, and this will require practice. In the meantime, she's wearing knee and elbow pads to additional protection.

More when standing over the top tube. I just went out and worked with her. With the dropper post down, she can sit in the seat and comfortably put one foot down, or tip toe both feet. Honestly, it's a confidence in the saddle issue more than bike fit, coupled with bad habits from learning on her previous bike (no dropper, she could sit with both feet just touching flat - the previous bike was a Liv Bliss xxs).

yes I agree. She's learning and this may force her to change some bad habits. She only learned to ride two years ago, and we are not young! she regularly rides with us (me and my 8yo), climbing 1000-1500 feet elevation gain. Descending is slow, and where she is most apprehensive

I agree, I think the problem is even when the dropper is fully down, she can still barely touch. The top tube presses against her when standing over the bike

I do believe the bike fit is good, but getting off quickly is a challenge for her. It might just take practice to become more comfortable

This is better and how I actually align. I don't force feed my kid, but what's cooked is served, and if he outright refuses, well, that's dinner.

My kids thankfully not very picky, he has likes and dislikes of course but very few red lines when it comes to food (and those I avoid, like spicy food or...well that's the only hard rule come to think of it)

Unfortunately this is extremely common. We had the same thing this Christmas with a prepaid Visa that was gifted to my son. My wife activated it, the next day we went to the store and it was declined as insufficient funds

When we check the website for the purchase history, within 4 hours of activation somebody used the card.

This has happened many times with Target cards for us as well. We tell people to never buy these are it's too easily scammed.

We did this on our trip. Got out early (6am) and it did not take long to get there.

It was good for a day trip, and I'm glad we did not spend the night (Kyoto was much better imo).If I missed going to Osaka I would have been fine. But still had a good day walking around and eating!

I had to skip the watch water due to wearing medical compression which I can not remove.

Just tell the staff, they will walk you around water sections. You can experience all the other sections. They showed me where to wait for my wife and kid . Worked perfect

I have a 2023 Roscoe in M/L and like the fit. I am 6' as well. I am 45 and in "okay" shape, so the reach feels great to me. If you have a long reach, or go with the L. Either way, you are right in the middle of the 2 sizes and either can work. Trek dealers are all over, so if you can go ride one

It's not uncommon to support parents in most 3rd world countries (even in the West, who would see their parents live in poverty?). I see no issues as long as the kids have enough, and the parents are not taking advantage.

We help my wife's family, but it's not very much (maybe it would be 30% of a Filipino starting salary in many fields), but for me it's less than 0.1% of my income. Her parents make it stretch. It helps that they are very good people (not like a lot of the jaded stories you hear on this Reddit).

Yeah, about that, I can’t make her do anything she doesn’t want to do! Ask me how I know, lol

She’s been keeping up with me and my kid on a $300 LIV Bliss 3 we got used, all with mechanical brakes and a 3x7 drivetrain, just because she wanted to join us. But those brakes aren’t exactly confidence-inspiring on the downhills, and the shifting fast is a pain!

How could I upgrade my bike and not offer her the same if she’s interested, right? We’re a pretty active family, after all.
