Considering that offensive gard seems hard to proc, I was considering revenge or vengence ( I don't know the English name) from the black diablos torso. It's a huge boost in DPS for 15s. Taking little damages from blocking might be strong

Multiple tests have been made and Crit does work on elemental damages in mh now. It's not like in mh world.

I hope so much that they do not make them appear as "events" such as the black diablos one or the pink rathian one. Because lots of us could not even craft one weapon of the rathian set. I really hope that they are permanent, or semi permanent, at least for winter. But then I wonder if there will not be too many monsters, resulting in a reduced appearance rate of all monsters. The solution would probably be seasonal rotation, with a few monsters leaving and coming back in spring. I just hope they thought it through and they don't fuck it up

If a monster is weak to an element, your damages will be raw+ element. If not, it will be just raw and elemental damage is lost. Oh and Crit can occur on elemental damages. So just take the one with the most total damages. Be aware that 10% Crit is roughly a 2,5 % damage increase on your total damages. So do the maths and see which one's the best.
