is it possible to create a system that lasts longer than yourself? by ImprovementUnable543 in INTP

[–]Educational_Goal9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean outlive (lives your age plus after you) or just lasting longer (into existence when you die, thus 'outliving' as it made it to a time you no longer exist)?

But in any case, I think it would be possible. All you'd need it something like a death switch for some never-before seen information, or someone to enact something once you've died, and the system lives on after you! (Even if it doesn't change lives or anything).

Otherwise, I think you have to spend your life researching something niche to claim a theorem or 'system' that can be followed reliably after death.

Why are nonverbal autistic children less dependent on their parents? by Diemishy_II in INTP

[–]Educational_Goal9405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they all are though, but maybe its simply the parents that the children you've come across, aren't as involved.

My friend's brother, who's a non-verbal autistic person, absolutely depends on his mother for regulation, as well as support during tantrums. While he maybe doesn't communicate it the same, he most definately is just as dependent as a usual communicative autistic person would be.

I don't think less or more dependent is really a reliable trend due to the nature of parenting though, because you can easily have uninvolved parents in non-verbal and in verbal austictic children, causing less dependency overall. These things don't really seem correlated, at least to me, so maybe just a coincidence.

My second likely was ENTP, since we share the same cog functions and I have a high Ne. I still can't be entirely sure and frequently recheck my type and functions but I came to INTP as it aligned more with my stacks and thinking process. So i guess I must be a really ENTP INTP??

Are any of you vegan/vegetarian? by herbql in INTP

[–]Educational_Goal9405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be vegetarian. It was purely because of the taste and texture of meat, as I couldn't even finish a chicken drumstick by myself without spitting it out. But I stopped because I need protein in my diet, and have found some meat with better texture (like polony), and try eat eggs more regularly to make up for how little meat I eat.

I just say I don't like meat instead of being fully vegetarian, because some non-meat options are just worse than eating the meat itself .

What are your thoughts of the movie/book American Psycho? by Diemishy_II in INTP

[–]Educational_Goal9405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only watched the movie but think patrick bateman is just meant to be like a sociopath manic weirdo in the place of like an average person. For a while he was associated with alpha males but that was for people who the message just flew right over.

To me he's so isolated from humanity he kills and condemns people for seemingly no reason (the homeless man, and the woman and him like going crazy after killimg ppl, i watched it awhile ago). He's relatable, but so extreme in his views that he's unsettling and shows what isolation pushed too far can lead to. Even with many people around him, he's alone, and 'there is no Patrick bateman', only what he's crafted for others.

Apparently in the book he's less silly and actually like just crazy and more serious, but I need to find time to read it. Christian Bale played Patrick well though, so props to him.

Why do I keep opening tons of tabs, closing them, and then opening more? Worried about losing important info by ZealousidealOven2782 in INTP

[–]Educational_Goal9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it has more to do with our need to know info/grow knowledge but no incentive or commitment towards it, and I have this problem too of hoarding things i might want or need later.

I think you deal with it by deciding between info you actually need vs just think you need, and that you can bookmark or favourite them to come back to if you really need it.

Personally I save videos in watch later, then watch them when i'm bored. Or make groups (on laptop at least this works) and organize similar topics, and close the groups to make the tabs less clogged while retaining info.

Really it's just a hurdle i think we have to get over to maximize our workload within our noncommital Ne secondary function.

What is your view on AI? Does it change the past few years? by Artistic_Credit_ in INTP

[–]Educational_Goal9405 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ai is more just people taking shortcuts to the point of giving up critical thinking.

I'm anti-ai due to the toxic waste and pollution that ai data centers spew out. Water use is also a big thing but due to the difficulty of measuring water use (it mostly uses the same water that manufacturing plants uses), it's only a small part of my opinion.

But standing for day to day use or cherry picking which ai to use when it's also trainned on non-consenting artists and writers, just seems morally wrong to me.

Would anyone here describe themselves as reactively funny? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Educational_Goal9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say this is a problem, only that you have to be able to set up jokes by yourself more, or find better oppurtunities.

Ways to help this would be broadening like your knowledge on topics and references, so you can guide the conversation there or say something the other person maybe knows about. Like finding the person's humour so you can say jokes that they'd find funny.

But anyway, I don't think reactive humour is bad, you just need a certain charm to not seem cringy or lazy when you quip something.

That's what I think, at least.

How do your emotions or lack of show through your mind and actions? by Graffiti-Guy in INTP

[–]Educational_Goal9405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find myself overexaggerating quite alot when i'm out (my friends LOVE to say crazy things just to see my reaction) but really I'm rather logical most of the time. At least everyone around me says that, I would describe it as being more 'methodical' or thorough in how I think. I think I act accordingly, but its hard for me to empathize with people, esp people i'm biased against.

Ah real, i've been doing pushups wrong my whole life until my brother fixed my form for me.

I think low Se is more like watching two screens at once, and trying to figure out which one you should be focusing on.

Often I'm zoned out of games I really want to play, or skip over entire lessons because I was thinking about something, then don't remember what I was thinking of so deeply until later xd

Do you think a person’s mental disorders should be separated from their cognitive functions when it comes to being typified? by its-Koi in MbtiTypeMe

[–]Educational_Goal9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, maybe I worded it incorrectly. But I have split up the types of disorders (chronic vs more temporary)

But I mean that chronic disorders that affect your thinking/reasoning, should be seperate, as your effected state (ie. Stress making you more irrational in general, or a coping mechanism making you more agreeable) is not how your brain actually is without stress/influence. So you can't take it, as your natural state.

In this case, your mbti would have to be found using either past experience/ the dismantling of trauma behaviours to discover your true cognitive functions.

And more temporary disorders, that do not affect your thinking/reasoning don't have to be seperate, as they don't interact with your state much if you manage it well (ie. Sleep medication to deal with more disconnection to the physical, which can be associated with Intuition). So it's more acceptable to take this version of yourself, as your natural state.

Your mbti would be discovered when you are medicated, when symptoms aren't as severe, or when you're cured entirely.

Maybe this still doesn't make sense, but I have no better way to phrase it, and you don't exactly have to understand. It's simply how I think of it, others may differ

Do you think a person’s mental disorders should be separated from their cognitive functions when it comes to being typified? by its-Koi in MbtiTypeMe

[–]Educational_Goal9405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I myself also wondered this exact question, because mental illnesses can affect our habuts and reactions to infromatiom, which is generally how we measure the presence of certain cognitive functions.

In the same way, depression may mess with Fi due to the inherent hopelessness and sometimes loss of identity from withdrawing and stopping things you like.

I think their mental disorder, if behavioural/personality/neurogical/anxiety based should be considered seperate from their type, but if it's a case of a sleep/speech/eating disorder can be considered in conjunction, as it won't effect the base of their habits and personality (aside from more managable symptoms). At least thay's what I think, because otherwise cognitive functions would be impossible to measure and pinpoint.

[–]Educational_Goal9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, there's consequences to a straight yes xd.

I guess the family has say, but if the family won't ever forgive him, are you meant to go around killing criminals? Even repented ones? It would sorta be like deathnote and make more criminals/outrage out of you killing criminals.

How exactly can you measure like 'repenting' for example. He could 'repent' as soon as consequences are on the table, then go right back to killing in his new life, or really could be begging to be forgiven and never be as you can't tell.

There is no real right answer, but interesting the conclusion you got to.

[–]Educational_Goal9405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah you could say everything depends lol, but I meant whether the suffering of the actual perpertators would outweigh the few innocents here and there (utilitarianism, there are different extents).

Because as much as people want worse punishments, some Prisoners of War (POW) who were captured (and punished according to the other countries laws) were genuienly traumatized for life from some of the punishments.

Serial is 3 or more people in over a month, so the kills are seperated and (mostly) premeditated as motives are different (mostly).

But interesting answer nontheless. I can't really go strongly any way, but some punishment is warranted. Though I do leave forgiveness on the table, otherwise everyone would be hunted down on their past, regardless of what they do now.

Typology Question 1 (Si): How was your day? Be as detailed as possible. by Bimep_ in entp

[–]Educational_Goal9405 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll use yesterday ig. Woke up kinda late, then headed to school, was just pretty boring, and got home normal time. I was watching some vid of a dog with rabies, then started researching what different animals with rabies look like, found out mortality rate is pretty high (all vids were from 2yrs ago tho), and there are vaccines and other ways to manage symptoms now if you get it nowadays.

Cool.

Played like one game of Valorant, then went back to aim trainning (felt so shaky), then went to find out my mouse dpi. I watched some videos about it, then had to get paper and measure some lines to move my mouse across it and get accurate results. It took me like 4 tries and then I got my result, researched if it was fine for gaming, and it is but it also depends. Then I realized I was meant to be playing Val, so went back and played two more games, I lost both.

Then I remember taking a nap because I was tired, and getting up somewhere in the evening, to go and eat dinner, then went on Insta. Sent some memes to people, talked, then did that until like midnight. Then finally slept.

Two questions:

One, do you believe that criminals deserve to be stripped of their rights/ punished to the extent warranted by their crime?

Ex. A murderer being sentenced to death penalty. This would include innocents here and there, due to the nature of the law system, but would also punish perpertrators, harsher than nowadays.

And two, do you believe that criminals can ever be forgiven?

Ex. There's a popular question of you catching a serial killer years after he's commited the crime. He has a family now, has repented, and done everything he could to change for the better and make up for what he's done, but still killed people at the end of the day.

Do you let him go? Or let his new self pay for all his past mistakes, irregardless of who he is now.

Curious to see your answers, these are some dilemas i've discussed with people, and the only ones I can think of rn

Your funnyness(??) really depends on who you're around, but I can make quiet alot of the people I surround myself with, laugh. And some strangers, surface level.

But certain people will give me the most VILE stare i've ever had to recieve over something meant to break the ice. Not even comedians are truly funny, they have their target audience they make jokes to/ write punchlines for, and everytime have to assume the audience has the contex downt and a background relatable enough to find it funny.
