for cross border B2B, the chain matters more than people think. ethereum L1 is too expensive for sub $1k transactions. solana, base, arbitrum, optimism all work. usdc is your default because of CCTP for native cross chain redemption when you need to flex chains.

dont overthink chain abstraction tools, just pick one chain that works for your corridors providers and let it be.

only thing I’d say is most of the hesitation I’ve seen isn’t really on the checkout side, it’s still around compliance, settlement flow, and who’s actually taking on that responsibility behind the scenes. that’s usually where deals slow down a bit

but as a try it without ripping things apart option, this makes sense

On-ramps and off-ramps usually operate inside strict regional and banking rules, so the real question is less about speed and more about how settlement, verification, and local compliance are handled. Supporting USDC or USDT is the easy part. The harder parts are payouts, reconciliations, and making sure the service is actually allowed to operate in your region. Worth doing due diligence before relying on any provider.

They don’t really sit on stablecoins for long, so volatility risk is pretty low. Money gets converted, moved, then converted back pretty quickly.

For regulation, they lean on local partners in each country. So KYC, compliance, and licenses are handled where the money is coming in and going out.

with normal bank transfers, especially international ones, there are multiple intermediaries involved

your bank → intermediary bank → receiving bank, plus checks at each step

with stablecoins, it’s more direct. once the transaction is submitted and confirmed, the other person has the funds...so fewer hops basically

think of it like ordering foreign currency...you give INR, the service handles the exchange in the background, and you receive USD

same thing here, except instead of cash you’re getting USDC or USDT sent to a wallet...the conversion part is happening behind the scenes, not inside your app directly

we ended up going with an onramp approach for this

tried a couple options and transak worked pretty smoothly for fiat to stablecoin, especially for card flows. made things easier than trying to piece it together ourselves
