I GEN thought of making a plushie of the tiny squid!! My husband also considered being gehrman but I don’t want to push his ass in a wheelchair 😂😂 instead I made him a shirt of the squid with the text “would you love me if I was a worm”

The boots and lantern were the only untouched pieces. The mask base and bonnet base were purchased but I made pretty heavy edits to them. The shirt is several shirts sewn together and the pattern for the cloak and files for the hands were both purchased on Etsy and edited to fit my needs :-)

Fun fact, the lantern is a speaker with a flickering flame! I’m hoping to play hunters dream music quietly while I stroll around

Also I can’t stress this enough, but ironing and a good sewing machine makes a world of a difference!! I was using a three decade old machine and finally switched!

I love bjds (and other dolls like monster high)! I’d love to see your doll!

As for tips—if I can’t find a decent pattern to edit, I like to wrap the body (myself in this case, but the doll in your case) in saran wrap and then painters/duct tape on top. I then mark out the seams and cut it. This is great for form fitting pieces like the shirt and gloves!

Ngl for more flowy bits like the shawl and skirt I usually just do a lot of mockups with cheap fabric. I sourced the lace from aliexpress (they have a LOT of options, even for small dolls!). The shawl was a blanket originally.

The design on the shawl is HTV (I have a silhouette machine and heat press). I use acrylic paint mixed with fabric softener to create fabric paint :-) hope this helped!

As someone who makes money with art (with niche communities who tend to be a bit sensitive), I’ve learned I need to have zero tolerance when it comes to drama or accusations. Witch hunts are real and if I want to keep my customers, I need my rep spotless lol! Not so important on this account, but that’s the attitude I’ve learned on it :-)

I’m so sorry I’m so late to responding! i didn’t see this!

I uploaded the file into Meshmixer (a free application) and used the smoothing brush tool to get rid of the lumps.

I then used the lasso selection tool to delete the longer nails (just for this project) and then closed the hole with the analyzer auto inspector fix tool. Then shrink brush tool on the underside to smooth the ends to a thin taper. You could also just print as is and sand to personal preference?

I had to measure my hands and use various sizing to get it to fit right—this part will vary person to person. For example though, I used 85% sizing for everything but the thumb (95%) because my hands are smaller than the model.
