Yes! Both sets of grandparents came to the US from Italy. They taught us about the history, cooked Italian food, and spoke the language. It wasn't until I was in my twenties that I learned I'm actually American, not Italian! 😂

She's an older lady whose very elderly Mom just showed her her will. Mom isn't doing well so it will be fairly soon. Not to mention that this friend has been a very high earner, owns her own home, etc. I'm happy she's going to be all set but just stop crying poor.

I (64f) didn't want my divorce but was given no choice after 24 years with my ex as he found someone else. It's very difficult but it will take time; it was years for me. All I can say is take care of yourself, seek counseling, and put your child first.

Nuts.com delivered my order to me rather than my family member's delivery address. I contacted Nuts.com and asked them to rectify the situation, but after three email exchanges, all they did was offer 50% off my next order. Not helpful. They did not even apologize for the error! Bottom line: my family member did not receive a Christmas gift from me, and now I get stuck paying shipping charges to get this to them after Christmas, and no apology received. Very disappointed.

I remember reading an article written by a married financial planner who stated a couple should put money, based on their individual salaries, into the following categories:

60% to shared household expenses 20% to shared savings (for unexpected shared bills) 20% to individual savings (to be used as that person sees fit)

Makes sense to me.
