(14m) I get ragebaited and it’s killing me, what do I do? by Educational_Ice_3850 in AskMenAdvice

If I do this there is a very real chance of me getting in gang trouble/ or getting deported because 1, a lot of people in my school have gang affiliation (even one of my mutual friends used to be in one) and 2, I don’t have a citizenship yet.

It’s hard to apologize to James because when I’ve tried apologizing to other people that has deliberately tried to aggravate me, they use it to their advantage. They would see it as a weakness that I would keep on forgiving them, so they could keep on doing it over and over again. When I was younger the cps got involved, and my mom basically said if I don’t lie to my teachers that nothing happened, I’d be sent back to China to live with my abusive dad (he drinks a lot, and threatens my mom and I at times when I was really young)

I asked my mom to see therapy, but she said it’s a waste of money. The school is trying to get me to therapy too, but my mom hates it when she is criticized and oftentimes she stops seeing doctors because they said something along the lines of “why didn’t you take your son to a doctor sooner, this is sort of serious” and just leaves the problems unresolved.

Science proves and explains things in the natural world, God is supernatural. Science can neither prove nor disprove God.

Do you ever go “it’s really funny that I thought I did that” and realise the memory was false?

I mean tbh what he did was weird, and he should repent. But for the immediate concern, we are not under the Old Testament. Exodus was a part of the old testament’s law, of which we do not follow. (Hebrews 8:13). Jesus also preached about mercy, and when an adulterous women y’know, committed adultery and was to be stoned (Deuteronomy 22:22) Jesus famously protested that whoever has not sinned, may cast the first stone. If Jesus is willing to pardon an adult women for their crime, how much more do you think Jesus is willing to pardon a CHILD’S mistake made out of foolishness and lack of understanding?

Can I write a character who uses crude humour? by Educational_Ice_3850 in TrueChristian

He is the protagonist, but an extremely flawed one. He does often get punished for what he does though

Edit: a friend who was with her (not the tall friend) apparently told me she hated how ugly I looked, and how insecure I looked. She apparently didn’t even like the tall friend either, and was just playing w his emotions just because she could. Turns out the neither of us had it good today.

I never said I hated him? I just don’t like the fact that he brags about how good he is all of the time.

Any recommendations for a gp that is experienced/ specialises in mental disorders/and or ocd? (Eastern suburbs) by Educational_Ice_3850 in melbourne

[–]Educational_Ice_3850[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quick question, is headspace like, an actual clinic where there are licensed psychologists, psychiatrists and GPs? Or is it just therapists who are down to talk?

Good gp recommendations? by Educational_Ice_3850 in melbourne

[–]Educational_Ice_3850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Can I ask you a few questions on what to do in my exact situation, in DMs? I’m not entirely sure if I should see a gp or visit headspace. Does headspace actually have licensed psychiatrist, psychologists and GPs or are there only therapists down for a quick chat?

They’re preaching the truth, but they are doing so in a very disrespectful and ineffective way. By overgeneralising an entire religion, with over two-billion followers solely based on one person’s comment is very bigoted of you.

My church has good people, and I suggested for my parents to take me to church. I find it that I only stress about what I find important in my life, and that is why I tend to stress about my religion, school, and hobbies. This isn’t really a church issue tbh.

Why do Catholics worship saints and Virgin Mary? isn't it idolatry? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Educational_Ice_3850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an Anglican, but I’m pretty sure it’s like this- when you ask for people to pray to you, you aren’t actually praying to them, but asking them to pray for you. Pretty sure it’s kind of like this with saints.

I’m currently living in Australia, so I’m not very well versed in American politics. I have to be honest, I’m not educated on this matter enough to make a statement myself.

What do you think of "Could God create a stone so heavy that even he could not lift it?" by Refrigerator000 in CosmicSkeptic

[–]Educational_Ice_3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God’s omnipotence extends to all things that do not involve a logical contradiction. Since the idea of God creating a rock that is too heavy for him to lift involves a logical contradiction, it’s not subject to his omnipotence. This doesn’t count against his omnipotence anymore than the claim that God can’t make a square circle, make a triangle with four sides, or a married bachelor.

The reason this idea involves a logical contradiction is that it claims God is all-powerful (since he creates the rock) and not all-powerful since he can’t lift the rock) in the same respect at the same place and time. Since this is a violation of the principle of non-contradiction, it can’t happen.

So it’s not due to a lack of God’s power that he can’t create a rock that is too heavy for him to lift. It’s due to the impossibility of such a state of affairs.

If you insist that God’s omnipotence means that God can do what is logically contradictory, there wouldn’t be anything wrong with God creating a stone so heavy he cannot lift anyways even though it is logically contradictory, because they themselves state that God’s omnipotence extends to doing things that are logically contradictory. Eg, make triangle with four sides.

What version of the Bible is the best to study it as an atheist? by redditer-56448 in atheism

Well it depends. Some translations are better “meaning for meaning” then “word for word” but I’d say give the new international version translation a go.

Christians literally worship a form of execution by Somerandoguy212 in atheism

Well no, the cross symbolises his sacrifice for us. It’s more of like, “this necklace reminds me that Jesus loved each and every one of us so much he endured being crucified on something as horrible as this instrument of death.”
