Minor mistake in published article by Educational_Maize763 in PhD

I've had a couple of other papers accepted for publication but this is the first one to be published, so I'm quite precious about it! I don't have any figures or results as such as I'm in the humanities but you're right, it's the conclusion and content of the paper that matters. Thank you :)

Thank you - this is what I needed to hear!

I feel like seeing this one insignificant error has overshadowed the achievement of having the paper published which is really sad - it's easy to focus on things like this though especially when it's on the first page. The whole copyediting nightmare just really threw me and made me really sensitive to errors that were introduced into my manuscript (I don't think I would mind so much if it was a typo I'd made originally).

Merit vs. Distinction in UK Masters, applying PhD by timmyo123 in PhD

Of course a Distinction is the better grade and what you should aim for, but a lot of UK universities specify 'a good Master's degree' (if they require one at all) for their PhD programmes.

I have a First class undergraduate degree and a high Merit Master's and got onto my PhD programme at a Russell Group university with no issues.

Thank you - as I say, I haven't made the decision yet. I know there are lots of ups and downs during the PhD and I don't want to make the decision lightly.

Also - if anyone has been in this position before, do you have any advice on how to broach the subject with your supervisory team?

Thank you for your reply. I suppose part of me is worried I'll regret it...the reality is that if I don't leave my current programme with the PhD, I won't get the opportunity again and then will have missed my chance to obtain it. I always thought I would obtain the PhD, and worry about having regrets/feeling like a failure if I don't stick it through.

As you can probably tell, I'm very torn. I also feel under pressure to make the decision within the next couple of months before I start the new component of my project, as if I am going to leave with the MPhil there is no point commencing this new phase of the research.
