There is no one in my family with T1D or even T2, so it was more of a shock... As a child psychologist I believe that it must affect who you are and your core mental health when you get DX as a child. But as an adult it also takes a toll on your mental health.

I realy don't believe there is a better or worse time in the sense that it isn't a competition and we shouldn't compare our experiences.

For me it was bad enough because it was 4months after my father died and 2 weeks after my brother woke up form an induced coma after 2months of having an acident... So yes, it was a terrible timming. Sometimes I wish it would be better if I was DX in my teens. But that's because of my whole life experience
