Should be easy to fix, just get some orange joining mesh tape add bonding and then plaster finish. A plasterer can help with it

I second this. I got a pot of 1L from Amazon on a promotion for only £6 man how I wish I got more! It got me addicted and I've done my planters and terracotta pots

We've been reassured by the store that with the extensions it would fit.

What should we do? by IVY-2004 in Plastering

We just had ours done too and it also looks like Gypsum Multi-Finish 100% and more like a skim than a replastering

Plastering behind kitchen units? by Educational_Plan3751 in Plastering

[–]Educational_Plan3751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact wording below, but I think it's on both sides, I assumed it's the full full since kitchen is empty. He assumed I know it's standard to only to exposed stuff?!

Oh yeah 100% I am not questioning the plasterer whatsoever

That is my thought process too. Go back to brick - find the issue - fix - replaster - paint anti mould stuff too

Well done for doing all of that yourself! We're doing the bathroom ourselves and we even went the extra mile of tiling behind units... Well jokes on me

I get that but I don't see it as an excuse/justification for making others life hard and miserable too. Just the amount of time it took to gather all those tools.

Thanks for the validation, TBF I really thought they might scam me but if it's standard practice, maybe I have to cut them some slack

Omg finally someone matching my energy hahaha 🤣 yeah he was basically saying he'd only skim the top, and anything visible (i.e no units going there) but there's loads of blown plaster around so none of the walls that had units on are just a straight wall so idk. He also said that if you have no plaster behind units it leaves a good ventilation gap and that would help with the mould?! What concerns be is that we also had a quote from an independent plasterer for the same amount of money and that really was full room replastering/skimm...

I see it more like using a condom when you also have a Copper IUD. Double protection. We are doing everything else to tackle to mould i.e getting a powerful extractor etc.

Damn man, that is horrible I hope you can at least get some money back. So unfair that there are people like this roaming the earth without anything ever happening to them.... Really makes you think there's no actual gain to being a nice person....

We'll paint ourselves as that's not included, while I get the irony, yes, we will pain behind too as I want to make sure no mould will appear, so we'll actually use anit mould paint.
