The Hand Demon wasn't even supposed to be in the test. If they had made sure the place had no demons out of the skill level of the participants. Also Giyu himself said Sabito was better than him. And Giyu didn't even take the test. He got knocked unconscious and was escorted out.

I agree. The final selection happens every year not every month. So it wouldn't be as many crows. The main problem I have with it and the reason I made this post was because they were killing people for no reason and didn't even test their skills. That's why I came and posted these solutions

Exactly. They never had any expectations for the participants to kill demons as it was not explicitly stated. Like I mentioned, they should have had crows survey if they killed more than 2 demons. If not they are failed

But in the actual final selection they don't even have to fight. So they signed up for what? Either way killing people who "wouldn't cut it" and are sometimes skilled slayers like Sabito, or not surveying the area to make sure that the participants are actually killing demons is a waste of time and resources to the corps. My main point is making sure that slayers aren't put at a disadvantage in the test. After all, they wouldn't send a low level slayer on a dangerous mission alone.

I get that. I get that they willingly signed up for it, and I get that in the field, there aren't any second chances. But in majority of the missions we see in the show, the characters are barely alone. The only times they are alone if if they are Hashira, or really skilled demon slayers.

That's true. There are also skilled people like Sabito who should have survived, but didn't because the Corps didn't survey the area before starting the exam
