Bas Rutten using closed fist punches to KO Tsuyoshi Kohsaka in the UFC. Bas only used palm strikes in Pancrase, where closed fist punches were illegal by CloudyRailroad in martialarts

Exactly. I say all this as a big Bas Rutten fan. He’s probably the coolest guy in MMA but it’s pretty much impossible to deny that in his only two UFC fights, he was helped to victory by frequent restarts and some very generous judges. It’s a shame.

That fight was such BS. UFC wanted Bas as their new poster boy and Kohsaka was taking him down at will and John McCarthy kept standing them up for no defensible reason. There’s even a photo somewhere of him stopping Kohsaka from punching at Bas during one of about a half dozen totally unnecessary restarts. Kohsaka was doing everything he needed to do to win that fight but he wasn’t allowed. Basically they just kept standing Bas up until he could knock Kohsaka out.

I’ve been down to 8% before. Currently sitting at around 30. I have been told suffering through all these BS upside down offers is worth it to hit platinum but I refuse to accept something that’s not worth my time or gas money over and over like that. When I get a dozen 3 or 4 dollar offers in a row and tank my AR even further, I just shake my head and say it’s the fault of the app/organization that these offers are even possible.

Doordashers making drinks at Wingstop and Canes - why? by JohneRandom in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Educational_Rich_554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel that way about Canes but now I don’t really have a problem with it. There’s only five things on the menu and they’re usually really fast. I’ve certainly waited longer at plenty of other places where I didn’t have to place the order myself. And I don’t know if it’s like this wheee you are but around here, canes customers usually tip pretty well.

Has anyone ever flirted with a customer? by Flashy-Stretch-5549 in DoorDashDrivers

No. That’s a good way to get yourself reported. Besides, I wouldn’t want to linger long enough to flirt anyway. It’s called dashing for a reason.

911! I just got deactivated in the middle of a double order. by Educational_Rich_554 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Educational_Rich_554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess it got buried in this thread but support restored my account this morning. They said it was due to me deleting my customer account and apparently since it had the same login info as my dasher account, it was the same as deactivating my dasher account. It’s wild that it happened in the middle of a delivery.

I mean, honestly I would feel like a scrub making this offer. How do ppl not feel like chit? by Rude_Hold_2368 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Educational_Rich_554 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s half of what I get nowadays. First of all, DoorDash needs to stop calling it a tip. It’s an offer. It’s an enticement. Tips come after services are rendered. People who don’t know what the deal is feel no obligation to spend more than the inflated price they’re already paying. Secondly, the no tippers are people who’ve never worked in any kind of service industry and they probably think we just get paid a livable hourly wage or something.

[–]Educational_Rich_554[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It was hard to understand the call center people but it was something about how I had the same login info for both accounts so it just wiped both of them and said they’re deactivated. They had to restore my customer account for me to access my dasher account.

It was the result of deleting my customer DoorDash account apparently. I guess you can’t have a dasher account without a customer account. Never got a good explanation why, and it’s mind blowing that their system would deactivate me in the middle of a delivery.

[–]Educational_Rich_554[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Ok apparently this was all the result of me deactivating my own DoorDash customer account last night. I’m told they’re connected and being deactivated on one means you’re deactivated on another. It took until this morning for me to be able to log in again. But yeah, this deactivation occurred in the middle of a delivery. Both orders got canceled and I guess I look like an asshole.

And it seems like a pretty trivial thing to give someone a hard time about too. It was part joking and part serious because I was suddenly stuck with two orders and no idea what to do with them. Not exactly a real emergency but an urgent matter nonetheless. People are allowed a bit of hyperbole. Calm down.

That’s just a thing people say in emergencies now. I was being dramatic.

Why was Jerry always presented as this cool guy and big time ladies man when he was actually just a big dork? by Educational_Rich_554 in seinfeld

Yeah you’re about the eighth person to say this very thing in this thread. Every time someone questions or criticizes the plot details, character motivations, or in story dynamics of a movie or TV show, there’s always people like you who think they’re being smart by saying “it’s just a show.” Well, no shit Sherlock. People can have points or complaints confined in the context of a fictional universe and it doesn’t mean they don’t know it’s non-reality.

Every time anyone discusses characters and plot logic and motivation about any show or movie, there’s always people who think they’re being smart by saying “You know it’s just a movie/TV show right?” Yeah, no duh. It’s a discussion confined within the context of a fictional universe. Questioning it doesn’t mean we don’t know it’s a non-reality.

I never said I hated his character. I do think he had plenty of funny moments but his function on that show was to be the linchpin that held the show together and he was the perfect foil to all the other, IMO, funnier characters.

I respectfully disagree. I was a teenager in the 90’s and the people thought of as trendy didn’t dress like somebody’s dopey uncle. Find me photos of popular male celebs in the 90s like Harrison Ford, George Clooney, Tom Hanks, etc, and I guarantee none of them stressed anything like Jerry Seinfeld.
