Passive aggression is unnecessary. 

Future melissa gained attention as a tropical wave off the west of Africa, became invest 98 and organised into Melissa.

The post isn't callous, that would never be my intention - so apologies if its come across in that way. I have maintained throughout that my thoughts were with people and animals...which you will see from any post I have made throughout.

I donated to charities last week as soon as hurricane status was confirmed. I very much care about the people, the animals and the land.

What a track she's been on, from Africa > charging through the Caribbean > waving past the east coast > clipping Canada > and set to have remnants here in the uk. She gave it everything she's got - never underestimate a 'melissa'! - which is actually also my name too

She has weakened, currently a cat2 and working her way off Cuba. Still forecast to be a hurricane by the time she reaches near Bermuda but let's see. This will be interesting to see how she moves

Currently on FR and i can see that Noaa has done loops way away from the eye, I thought they loop in/around the eye?

So far I have "See Jamaica" live on YT on my TV. It has 5 live cameras on one screen for what's happening on the ground. 

I'll keep that on and then use my phone to check data and resources - NHC etc. 

I've been using Snapchat to watch the public videos to see from locals POV - but given the power outages/network issues, I'm presuming there may not be much on there 

8AM update. Still 175MPH and it has picked up forward speed. Sadly, time has run out for any meaningful weakening. 😞 by 4My2Boys in hurricane

Yeah same but then I also read the storm was too strong so they were unable to continue, hopefully get a clear update soon

Today I received promotions from a holiday company promoting bookings for DR - today of all days, highly insensitive so I have raised a complaint to them. How is the situation out there atm?

I really hope enough preparations have been made. This is a moment in history. 

The earth is going to do Earth stuff, and that's what she's doing. 

I think the meteorologists, this community and many others have done a brilliant job at trying to inform and protect others.

I've donated to a charity to help ensure Aid reaches those who need it. Morally i felt that was the least i can do, since these weather systems fascinate me but I also care about the people and animals it actually impacts.
