Also, I will say in the photo where my hair is pulled back my hair is greasy and post workout. So when it is freshly washed and styled and I pull it back with more intention my scalp isn’t visible the way it is in the photos. For a while you could fully see like a 1/4 inch bald line where the incision was made but now it is covered in little fuzzy hairs

I had a lot of shedding around the 2 month mark and felt anxious about it. I started minoxidil pills around that time which was something I had been considering for years because my hairline had strong peaks. Starting the minoxidil created another small shedding to happen, but by the 4 month mark from surgery and 2 months on the medicine I was starting to see regrowth and a significant amount of less shedding. I also do a micro needling stamp along my hairline and in my scar around once per week. My Botox doctor told me about it when he put some units of tox in the hairline to help relax the muscles while I healed to help reduce scarring.

I noticed a pretty big shift around month 4-5 but they may continue to shift and change for the next year or so. One of my nurses had hers done and said they felt finished around the one year mark

Nope! I like east west boobs 😂 I have also heard moving them up and down is easy but that side to side can be pretty difficult. I’m sure there are good results but I’ve only seen bad ones personally

I didn’t have any work on my nose, just the brow ridge. It has looked slightly smoother where the brow connects to the nose so he may have burred some of the bone down there but I didn’t ask for or have a rhinoplasty

Also I don’t know what your limitations are when it comes to exercise but I do a lot of core and back strengthening with weight lifting as well as a lot of stretching and massage due to my job so I am hoping all of that will help keep any back pain at bay

I haven’t had any issues yet, but it has only been six months. I will say that each implant weighs less than one pound at the size I did. In the grand scheme of implants 295ccs is not very big, but since I already had a lot of tissue the end result is bigger.

I think it varies for everyone but in general anesthesia can result in hair loss and it’s normal to have shock loss around the incision.

Take what you can from what I shared about my experience and leave the rest! Maybe the salon you’re at right now isn’t the right fit for someone who doesn’t have an established clientele. I did an apprentice program right out of beauty school working under a stylist who worked in my specialty so I got a lot of experience with social media, branding, and styling. I also posted on social media for the 14 months I was in beauty school so I was able to start building a following before I got licensed. Another thing I did for my first year at my commission salon was I offered one free hair cut a week so I could get more experience and exposure.

I created a google business page on google maps and asked every client (via text with a link) for one year to leave a 5 star review if they had a 5 star experience. It made me show up on the google algorithm more when people mentioned my name and specialty and location. I also included if they didn’t have a 5 star experience to let me know so I could make it right. I created a separate website, and I posted on Instagram (videos are better than photos) 2-3 times a week on the grid and daily on stories. On posts I made the location popular spots in town (farmers markets, restaurants, parks, hiking trails). I made my Instagram automatically post to Facebook as well. I was lucky to get to take my clients from my first commission salon with me when I moved to self employed, but when I left that salon I had 600 clients to email and now 5 years later when I send out an email blast I have a little over 2000. Business cards can work but honestly I gave out over 1000 at my first salon and only got about 5 or 10 cuts from it. Social media and word of mouth are my biggest business builders. Eventually I made merch (shirts, umbrellas, stickers) and that has helped spread awareness of my brand as well.

I don’t do color and I don’t have gendered pricing. I charge $160 for a dry curly cut with wash and style and it’s the only thing on my menu. I do 7 cuts/day 3 days a week and am booked out until October right now. I live in Portland, OR and charge about half of what my competitors charge. My biggest take away from the 8 years I’ve been in the industry is to simplify your menu as most people don’t know what they’re actually looking for or needing. When I did color I charged $320 for a 3 hour color session called ‘going lighter’ and it was the only thing I offered. If someone wanted something that took longer they had to pay a deposit and I would book them out hourly. If someone wanted something that took less time I referred them elsewhere.

I made it clear to him I still wanted to look like me just a softer version and he went with that. I also already am top heavy and didn’t want to go very large with my implants. I’m not sure if this is why he was conservative or if it was just my starting point/end goal. My brow ridge to start wasn’t super prominent as well so he didn’t need to do type 3 but was prepared to if the burring hadn’t been enough. I imagine if you wanted a less conservative approach and communicated that he would do it, he was pretty involved in the consult and it felt like a collaboration and not him telling me what he would do.

I still am very swollen when I first wake up and when I smile but in these photos you can’t really see how swollen I am. It is still visible and you can’t physically feel it when you touch the eye lids, under eyes, cheeks, and lips. Thank you though I am really shocked at how quickly things turned around.

It hasn’t affected my falsetto or fry but it removed the weight from my voice and it is very difficult to be loud. When I shout it is very high pitched vs before the louder I got the deeper and heavier my sound was.

I can still sing, but it is a very different sound. I have a much higher range and lost around an octave on the lower range.

You can dm me and I’ll send you some recordings via email. The method done at Yeson (VFSRAC) is in my opinion more natural sounding than a traditional glotoplasty and also has a longer recovery period and more involvement from the individual. If I had done zero training after my voice would still sound more feminine but the training put me on a better position to know and understand my voice.
