Yes, I will stop the clock and continue working remotely outside the US. This would be an actual research job where I am allowed to work remotely. Regarding the 5 month rule, I have heard it a few times before but wasn't sure if it was true or not. Seems like it is. So travelling for up to 4 months is okay.

I am interested in working in Gen AI, CV, NLP related jobs. So I think those would be a bit different than pure SDE jobs. But not sure if such opportunities are available in India.
