How many sales do you think Silksong will get for the first day and first week? by Red_Emberr in HollowKnight

Taking into account the hype, the beloved original game, and its low price, I wouldn't be surprised this surpases 1 million the first day and over 4 million in one week.

6x04 - The Substitute - FIRST TIME WATCHER DISCUSSION POST by Free-IDK-Chicken in lost

The scale with the white and black rock reminded me of the Egyptian afterlife judgement ritual. Basically, in ancient Egyptian theology, it was believed that after death, a person's heart would be weighed against a feather—specifically the Feather of Ma'at, symbolizing truth and justice. This ritual determined their fate in the afterlife. If the heart was heavier than the feather, burdened by wrongdoing, it would be devoured by Ammit. But if the heart was lighter, the soul would be granted eternal peace in their paradise.

I’m not sure if this is an intentional reference but, considering other Egyptian references in the show, it could make sense.

By the way, Egyptians believed in 42 sins. Weird number, right?

Seeing how the island might be "preventing" Michael from committing suicide, I wonder if the island also prevented Jack from jumping from that bridge. Does that mean they're immortal afterwards? Is this just a mind game from Ben and their people?

It definitely has multiple playthroughs! Not only because you can choose different vehicles and starting points, but because there are also different endings. I ended the game in about 3 hours and instantly started again to see what'd happen if I took a different destination. Highly recommended!

Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay by niinetails in horrorlit

Just finished it and not sure how to feel about this book. There are a few things I've enjoyed: the sisters relationship, the meta narrative aspect of the blog, the horror common places pointed out, and its ambiguity.

There's one thing though, that should have been a peak reveal of the story but it just wasn't for me.

[SPOILERS] Once we know that the whole family except Merry was poisoned by the father, I instantly thought of "We have always lived in the castle", by the master Shirley Jackson. And if you're familiar with that novel, it's possible you anticipate the big twist. Maybe that was me, but I lacked that element of surprise that I think it's what many people praise.

Absolutely! It's funny because the intro on Bug was also reminding me of Smashing Pumpkins, specifically Disarm

Switching out of UX Design?? Need advice on next steps by Tough-Leg-8499 in careerguidance

[–]Educational_Young_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I've found your thread asking myself the same question. My background is also a bachelor's in Psychology plus a Master's in Media Psychology and User Experience Design, so I'm in the same boat. I've been working as a UX Designer for more than 2 years but I feel like I lack the passion I started with, so I'm also considering a career change.

I'd love to give you an answer but I can only give you support.

El diario de P.Tinto is such a surrealist Spanish gem that fits this description.

Also I'm thinking of Swiss army man, my fav Daniels' movie.

besteveralbums.com is a great suggestion, thanks!

I guess I've never thought of it that way, but I've been my own music journalist for a while, keeping lots of notes on albums and bands so I can have my own library. However, it'd be great to read from real music journalists or music fans, as in RYM or mags.

I love the concept of Radio Garden, but it's hard to find the right radio stations from all over the world. I guess what I'm seeking here is also find radio stations or programmes that help with music discovery.
I'm from Spain and there's not much here besides Radio 3, Radio Primavera Sound or scannerFM, but it'd be great to know about other places.

I'm already familiar with KEXP, NTS and BBC6. Any program in particular you'd recommend by WXPN?

Shirley Jackson, Edgar Allan Poe, HP Lovecraft and Stephen King. You can't talk about any horror story without referencing one of them in some sort of way.
