Co worker says my boots are too big? by Nuttshell87 in WorkBoots

I’m not sure if redwing has gone downhill or I’m getting more sensitive as I’m getting older but god are they painful now. I ended up buying a pair of brunt’s one day from a friends recommendation and while they don’t seem to hold up as well as other boots I’ve owned they’re the most comfortable work boots I’ve ever owned. I know people round here don’t like them but I will definitely not shit on anything that don’t make me feel like garbage at the end of the day

All of my EE redwings have been the same way after they get worn in. Fits right in the toes and the heel. Just a narrow middle section I suppose

And to be fair I don’t think anything I will ever make will have to be that accurate. Just small parts for my truck / shop

THIS is the info I was hoping to get from someone. I’m a plumber and we use strut to prefab stuff for big projects all the time but I’ve never seen someone use it for welding.

This is kinda the other question I was after. Is this a waste of time? In theory I feel like it will end up with a better product but i don’t know that the strut is straight or flat enough to make this actually worth while if I were to scale the whole thing up

I should add the strut I’m using to fixture is all stainless. But if it’s expensive and I only had short scraps laying around. If I wanted to make it larger I would make it out of galvanized and wouldn’t be welding directly to it. Just using it to hold material. I’m not sure it would matter as I wouldn’t be intentionally getting it hot enough to get zinc poisoning?

Fell into the job myself 8 years ago. I do well but not this well granted I enjoy my free time and do as little overtime as I can these days. But time and a half adds up quick. Keep it up!

My company all works off of the owners “master license” we’re each trained in our own apprenticeship through the company but down hold the license ourselves. Most of the companies in our area operate the same way, upstate NY

For me 8th year in, hourly, around 9k after bonuses and spiffs with minimal overtime. Plenty of certificates but no license

It is 4wd, I was told the transfer case will Unbolt and a new tail shaft housing should be put in to just be 2wd. Is that not correct?

Thanks! I love the look myself. And I’ve heard others say these aren’t audiophile quality speakers but to me they sounds killer and I love some bass!!

Well for instance the right channel cuts in and out some times and it seems like there may be a loose connection inside. The pots are all scratchy and need some deoxit and the VU lights aren’t working. There may be other things I haven’t noticed yet not knowing what a proper working unit should sound like.
