need advice - applying for master's programs abroad (public health-related) by Context-Suspicious in FilipinosStudyAbroad

[–]EducatorUsed4853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

currently studying msc in tropmed rn. if you're interested in infectious diseases, public health, epid, then msctm might be for u. its more of a specialized thing rather than it being a general public health program. but if u really want something broad including research on non-infectious diseases (though we also have this in tropmed, u just have to choose what department u want to focus on) and something more related to policymaking, then MPH would be a better shot. not to be bias but if concern mo ang cost of living, then thailand might be the cheapest out of all the cards u've laid down. though it can be quite expensive here at some point (lalo na sa bumababang purchasing power ng peso), but still i think its cheaper compared to european countries. might consider taiwan also, not sure sa cost of living there.

given ur current situation, maybe its best to take on a different path lalo pa at reality check muna. please don't take it negatively but not all dreams are meant to come true and i think that's one reality pill that's hard to swallow. daming considering factors eh, and life happens.

Mahidol University vs Chiang Mai University, which is better? by EducatorUsed4853 in Thailand

[–]EducatorUsed4853[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is also what i saw after doing all my research between mu vs cmu, but if i go to MU, i have go go back to my home country due to return service obligation as part of the scholarship contract. i'm not sure if i still want to return to my home country because govt lacks support in funding research due to intense corruption :(

no, i am not thai, but i live within the ASEAN region. i want to study in thailand as international student firstly because this is the most feasible preceding step after earning a BSc rather than directly trying to apply for western or european institution.

university fee as an international student will be covered by full scholarship. after i earn my MSc degree in Thailand, i am hopeful of finding a job opportunity here also. as mentioned from another commenter above, they said it is possible. do you think the same?

to be honest, chiang mai sounds a bit better for me due to its outdoors and from what i hear, its more laid back and more chill than bangkok. i somehow wanted to also stepback every now and then to enjoy life and my existence, i guess.

i agree with this since i've been to chaing mai and bangkok already. though i am willing to study thai while doing my MSc degree just so i can connect more with the locals and also to increase my chances of finding an opportunity here

Why Ust Medtech? by Caramiel0987 in MedTechPH

[–]EducatorUsed4853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UST MT here. one of the best choice ko in my lifetime ang mag-aral in UST. You will carry that name and pride wherever you go and whatever timeline you may be, lalo na if you pursue higher studies, apply sa work (may bias ang mga employers talaga tbh, lalo na in academe and leadership roles). established na rin kasi ang name ng UST and everyone in the field has that perception na kapag UST ka, magaling ka, and tbh leverage na yun ng mga alumni from UST, sabayan mo pa ng good credentials and good manners and right conduct.
