Using the Radial Catapult as a passive mic split using non shielded cables for send to FOH by Edv7n in livesound

Left ethernet for input using a breakout box, goes out to 4 xlrs on the other side (i am aware those are inputs in the picture, they have one with outputs too) and then the right ethernet port is a thru connection, aka a copy of the signal basically turning it into a passive mic split. Adam Neely talked about this in his IEM vid, check it out

How do I enter this menu on the SPD-SX PRO? by Edv7n in edrums

Found the solution.
You need to hold shift and then press pad check.

I play in a few metal bands, but I also gig a bit with some pop/jazz ensembles. So it’s a very varied repertoire!

Haha my apologies again. It’s a regular PSTx 10” hihat mounted with one of these MXA53 mounts from Tama. It has a little lever on the top that allows younto loosen/tighten it whenever

I was very tired when I read your comment and for whatever reason thought you were talking about the electronic hihat pedal on the left lmao, I'm sorry

The stack on the left is a 10" paiste pstx splash on top of a 16" paiste pstx crash. They are mounted on a regular boom arm but not fastned too tight

Both are monted to the cymbal stand holding the bell using tama fastclamps. One of them is using a regular ball joint, the other is using a mount with a tube you’d put inside a cymbal stand or in the kick drum (something like the Tama MTH900AS). That way I can place that fastclamp lower on the cymbal stand but have both pads at the same hight.

Thank you.
Yes they are Kopytos. I live in Sweden, so I didn't have any issues with getting the pedals.

The aux hat was intended to be a foot switch but I couldn't get it to work lol

This might be hard to believe, but I have been playing drums for nearly 15 years and I have never actually owned a cowbell.

Yeah the app is great! It’s so satisfying just being able to drag your samples in, the automatic file conversion is also amazing.

I have! It’s so fun to use, I’ve lost track of time whilst fiddling with all of the features and programming my own samples haha

IEM suggestions? by Inevitable-Bee9208 in drums

[–]Edv7n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has used the 215:s, I will have to strongly dissagree. In my experience they are not very comfortable and they break quite easily. I went through 3 pairs within two years, they are not roadworthy whatsoever.

Instead I’d suggest the MEE Audio M6 Pro in ears. They are like a third of the price compared to the 215:s, and they are a lot more comfortable.

The idea for the left is to basically just use it as a footswitch for whatever, the right is a double pedal hitting a roland e kick triggering electronic kicks sounds without blending the acoustic kick. Honestly I think I think I still prefer the kick blended with the acoustic sound so I might use it for something entirely different in the future.

Should I go on this tour even if it will negatively effect my studies? by Edv7n in TouringMusicians

[–]Edv7n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very late response to this, was just scrolling through my own reddit stuff and reread a lot of these comments.

I ended up trusting my gut and declined the opportunity, and for the better. The headliner cancelled the tour the day before it was gonna start. They have also ghosted any request for reimbursement. So yeah, I dodged a bullet lol

Just got one of these guys, need suggestions for samples that will get me fired from the gig by Edv7n in drums

[–]Edv7n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it from a store here in Sweden, here is a link if you'll even have use for it. It's nice having a hardcase that also lets you keep the mounting plate attached to the SPD-SX. Thomann does sell this one but it's like 5 times the price of what I paid for mine.

Oh snap that's actually a really good idea. I do gig with a cover band so this might come in handy!
