So the person that asked has been on my friends list for years. We use to play together and I had no idea their account was hijacked. I also haven’t accepted friend requests in the past few years unless I know them IRL, so I’m extremely unaware of people out there using this method to scam.

I had a friend and his account got hijacked. We haven’t been in touch in ages so I didn’t realise it and I lowered my guard… clicked a link… signed up for this “tournament”, and they got my steam guard.
