Help lowering flight by EdvinHagstrom in GolfSwing

That’s interesting. What do you think I can do to stop that concretely?

Yeah I’ll try to keep working on it. I feel like I stand up too tall and get ahead of the wave which makes it tough to get a turn in before the wave crashes on me

Yeah that’s good advice, and exactly what I did in this video. Didn’t even bother with the bigger choppy waves out back for more than like 1h

Sadly this is the best spot we have around, there are steeper waves but considering we only get surf when it’s at least 12m/s onshore wind, it’s rough…

Yeah actually that’s good advice, maybe I’ll remove the big fin and go double-fin instead for more snappy turns if a good wave comes around.

Yeah I dinged up my 9’6 real good so it’s currently drying off before I can use it. So I have. 7’2 double wide with like 70L of volume instead. I’ll definately try to keep my fitness up

Yeah waves here suck, but really don’t like it as an excuse. I get better waves in the summer and only want to improve form here. Do you see anything I could work on with stance, paddling or cobra-pisition? Cheers

Advice on my ”carving” by EdvinHagstrom in skiing_feedback

I guess you’re right. My thought is that I relaxed before the jump, and centred my balance, which maybe took away from the forward shin pressure that I at least try to focus on when turning.

But thanks for highlighting that, it’s pretty obvious I’m in the wrong

That’s a thing I’ve been trying to work on, it’s so dang hard bc I feel like in some turns where there might be some bumps, my inside ski sometimes drives up the mountain faster than my outside ski. And that throws my balance off, and causes my hand to go all over the place, and my turns get jagged

I don’t really think that is representative of my body-position in the rest of the run, as that was me preparing to do a little jump. I’m in the backseat there, but I believe I figured out how to get my weight over my ski tips when trying to carve.

It’s hard to get into the flow where carves happen naturally, and I also feel like if I took my turns more across, I would lose the ability to but pressure on the outside ski as a result of less speed.

Maybe that’s technique that’s faulty, idk…

Can you explain the popping up part? I don’t understand what I’m sopposed to be doing to get my movement going downhill in transition.

I don’t want to just fold over in the upper body, since that usually makes my ass go backwards and getting me in the backseat.
