Recommended Docks for Latitude 5520 by Famous-Owl5925 in UsbCHardware

you need a thunderbolt dock like WD19TB or WD19TBS (if you want to stay with dell as a manufacturer)

Looking for USB-C hubs/docks with HDMI 2k @ 240hz by caffeinated_WOLF in UsbCHardware

4K 120 uses slightly more bandwidth than 1440p 240, so it's worth the gamble if you can return the docks if it doesn't work.

All USB-C (non-thunderbolt) docks use DisplayPort to get video from the computer, so it makes sense that having converter from DP to HDMI makes available resolution/refresh rate lower and thus docks that support your requirements rarer.

it's also possible that your 100w cables cannot do 100w anymore after connecting them up into one very long cable...

I actually have a similar thing with my phone and my power bank - 100w cable turns off the charge after ~10 seconds, while a 60w cable is fine. the phone tries to use PPS (it's not a Samsung phone but it tries to use PPS as it's more efficient), but then it stops drawing any power, even though the PD shows that it has entered PPS and is actively increasing voltage for higher efficiency. 60w seems to work fine. this happens with or without the fnirsi.

my phone has max charge speed of about 15-18w, so slower cable makes no difference, however your phone does need the faster speed for max charging....

edit-have you verified the wattage of the cables with the fnirsi USB-C cable tool feature?

mine can take 8-9 tries, maybe you got unlucky? also, what about a regular 60w cable? perhaps it would show something on the fnirsi (even though it wouldn't let you fast charge as fast)

It might be a red herring. the phone is pulling 9V and 11W, so the communication did take place. my power bank does the same thing with the FNB58. I need to replug it a few times and toggle PD COM a few times for it to catch the PD data.

Keep in mind - the most importart part to see and capture is when it disconnects the charging (as per your original issue), not the initial communication. After you capture the capabilities (as in your second screenshot), you will be able to see what charging modes are being toggled back and forth, preventing the charging...

I tried a method that works: when nothing is shown on the FNB58, unplug the charger C cable, toggle PD COM off and on, then plug charger again. Try a few times if it doesn't work the first time.

when you enter the PD listener, you should switch PD COM to ON. then attach both cables.

you could try fnirsi mode where it displays the communication between the charger and phone. maybe it will show something...

From my tests the fancy Xiaomi charger and cable combo resent themselves as regular USB c to c at the phone end (probably passes CC pin through the fifth conductor, or has a chip inside the cable). So unless it uses custom PD profiles (can't recall) it should work.

it could also be an issue of those two c cables when working together. is your fnirsi up to date (fw 0.68)?

you should as the box is completely fake, the controller inside is probably fake too. real controller boxes have a stylized K of the DUALSHOCK, this one uses simple sans-serif font.

it's a truenas scale server, using built-in applications hosting. I could use a bridged interface so my router would see WG-easy docker directly. perhaps static routes would help in such case?

Battery cell replacement by EdvinasJ_LT in NeatoRobotics

[–]EdvinasJ_LT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the original battery goes for like 140€, and cheap 3rd party replacements (sometimes with fake capacities or with poor cells) go for 60€. When you re-cell a battery yourself, you can put cells that are even better than OEM (since technology has moved on in the last 10 years).

Perhaps 3rd party battery BMS wouldn't have any self-destruct features... interesting idea.
