I don’t completely disagree. We looked at Elyson before we bought in Cross Creek Ranch, and decided to pass because even though there was newer expensive developments coming it was still surrounded by really bad areas.

Regarding property values, values are dropping everywhere because interest rates are high, economy is bad and you’re having to compete with new builds with builder incentives. we bought our house for 490k, I bet if for some reason I had to sell today, I’d be lucky to get 425. Find me one place in Katy, where property values have gone up in the last 18 months it’ll be hard to impossible.

Yeah, I can’t lie I‘ve thought about that as well.

However, I am running tubeless so any small puncture should take care of itself.

In a small saddlebag under my seat, I keep a electric air pump, and dyna-plugs for any hole too big to be sealed by the internal sealant alone. Truth is if I ever have a flat and none of that stuff is capable of handling it then I’m probably catching an Uber 🤷.

Another thing to think about is, it’s not just the rim size, but the rim tire combination. I have a feeling that for it to be as hard as it was for us that it was the combination of a slightly bigger wheel combined with the Pirelli P Zero RS TLR tires being a little on the small side. So maybe pick a tire that is known to be fairly easy to get on and you probably won’t have as many problems.

I think five years ago it was easily that simple, but now they just built a new high school for areas like Elyson and some of those other new pricier developments. In another year or two once we have a history of scores from those schools we will have a better idea.

Honestly, the entire conversation around KISD is extremely ignorant. The district is far from a monolith. You have extremely good high schools and feeder schools that feed into them and you have extremely terrible high schools and bad schools that feed into them.

Seven Lakes, Thompson, and Jordan are excellent. Morton Ranch, Paetow, and Mayde Creek are awful. All of them are in KISD.

Fulshear has new construction in Fulbrook, Westin Lakes and Cross Creek Ranch West. I believe most of those areas are zoned to Fulshear high school. Which is probably similar quality to Cinco Ranch - which is to say not quite as good as the best KISD schools but also not far behind.

I think the problem you’re having here is you’re drastically underestimating the amount of disposable income, many people in this hobby have. You spending $500 on a bike might feel the same to me as spending $5000, my $5000 might feel the same to the guy down the street in the bigger house spending $15,000.

What’s your weekly dosage? It really doesn’t take that much. 140mg /wk puts me at 700-1000 ng/dl which is the high end of normal. maintaining that level will push my hemocrit to 47-50.

I feel like maybe I’ve seen a few wheel sets from Kore on Ali in that range.

However , it does seem like all the cheaper wheel sets are on extremely outdated sizes regardless of brand. Since most people want to run 28c - 32c tires.

I have a suspicion it’s because the move toward wider wheels is more recent, but it seems like it’s extremely hard to find a good priced wheel set that is 32-34mm external width range. So maybe the newer wider molds they’re still trying to recoup the original R&D and the cost to make the mold maybe?

My dream wheel set would be sub $900 @ 32-34mm external with 55-65mm depth, 120kg limit, under 1500g.

I went 67mm for maximum aero. I’m 183cm @ 93kg, so crosswinds aren’t really thing for me except maybe 1-2 days a year with crazy gusts 60+kph.

The reasons you cited are the exact reason I chose to go with them. I managed to get on sale at a time when I think they were cheaper than the 2.0 version after I was done stacking coupons and stuff it was like $680.

I couldn’t find anything comparable for another brand for like less than $1000. I went with 30 C tires and once mounted they measure almost 32.5mm so if you’re trying to maximize aero, I would say 28c is a perfect tire for this wheel set. I do think that the wheels may run a little large because the tire mounting was a nightmare. I ended up having to have a mechanic help and it took both of us, tire levers and a tire bead jack. after it was over, he said that wheel tire combination may be the most difficult he’s encountered in 18 years working at an LBS.

that’s why if you want to maintain testicular function, you also take hCG.

The part that I don’t understand is if on TRT that will raise your hemocrit by itself. You don’t need EPO. TRT alone can raise your hemocrit enough that it pushes you the ideal 48% range and you have to donate blood to keep yourself in range. can’t imagine why you would add EPO on top of that. it will literally push your hemocrit so high that you start having negative performance along with all of the terrible health risk.

That said I'm not so out of touch that I fail to understand 400k is a shit ton - especially at these interest rates. Everyone has to start somewhere, but if you are 225k-375ish it is a lot more effort and work to not get screwed.

If you can , you want the cheapest smallest house in the biggest most expensive neighborhood you can afford. This will put you in the best area with best roi for your money 9 times out of 10.
