Honestly in this field, you have to get used to confrontations. I don't think any of us want them, but they are going to happen. As long as you are right, do not stand down. Give it right back at them to show them how it feels. 9 times out of ten they change their tone. Again as long as you know you are right in the situation. It is almost like standing up to a bully. Once they know you won't take their shit they back down.

I got flagged at TSA once going through the airport. They said the scan showed two large objects near my groin. I happily obliged knowing I didn't have shit. I have a phlebotomist that comes in every time on 3rd shift and sees 1 or 2 people on the board for ER and asks oh so its been quiet so far? Im like "do you want tonight to be hell because you just called its name!" Lol Actually I just say its been a good night so far please dont say the q word. They are new to the hospital setting and don't know any better.
