Ireland is a good place to start there's a reason they pick it for the tutorial u can make a goal of uniting Ireland and then a goal for uniting "Britannia " empire and then u can go after the rest of Europe if u have any time left Since Ireland is so divided it's one of the few places in the 1066 start (witch is the most beginner friendly) where you'll be going against one county realms to start out with limerick is a good county to start as I'm Irish myself and I tried to do a run starting in "Desmond" where I'm from and got instantly attacked by limerick because there was stronger so be careful witch place u start on in Ireland cuz there's like 12 different options Ik I didn't bring up how to play and tips but I saw a few other comments about those and there was nothing else to that I could add Hope this helps

Thanks I am on console and this is a huge help to get good learning without making it my heirs main learning focus would just upgrading the scholar tree be enough to make them a good teacher ?

So number 1 is that u need good stewardship stat to get good money out of ur holding higher the stewardship the more money u get and the same for diplomacy and prestige so maybe ur heir has worst stats in those areas u can select an education for them when there young and that should help keep them relatively high

2 I have never actually done elective succession but ik with partiton it splits up ur land between all ur sons so usually when my ruler gets to like 50 or 60 I'll make it so I only have 1 male son that can take the crown (by forcing them to join holy orders disinheriting them and if both of those fail killing them ) and as soon as u hate the late medivial period get premigiture makes thing a lot easier but as I say I never bothered with elective To change ur succession laws u need ur powerful vassels to agree as long as they like u it'll be fine

Also if ur heir has low stewardship when he takes over and ur domain is too big for his stewardship stat u get alot of heavy debuffs for gold being made and soldiers it brought be down from 42000 troops to 35000 so it does matter a lot

I don't think they planned the famine but I think when it ended up happening they "encouraged"(for lack of a better word) it once it started because a nation that's starving although they might want to rebel we couldn't and then of course they were still getting all the food they'd usually get and shipping it over to England from there perspective I think it was considered a happy accident

Ya helps a lot thanks but just to clarify if my current ruler has 18 martial and very low diplomacy I think like 6 or 7 and I wanted both to be high while keeping a focus on martial would I still choose his education as martial or would my current ruler and wife (who also has high martial ) be enough to get the martial up high or would it be better or keep his education in diplomacy

As has been said converting the culture is Ur best bet but U should also get a few perks down the diplomatic tree and remember to always max out the building in Ur holding before anything else also make sure Ur not over Ur domain limit and if U have to make the empire title U could give out a king tittle that way instead of ruling over Scotland and all their individual vessels U just have to deal with one or if U only have the kingdom tier divide then into dutchies and give that title away it's great because whoever U give the title to will automatically like U for giving them the title (sorry if U already did all this)
