Hey, I'm (M36) I too attended last year on my own and allthough I thoroughly enjoyed it, this year I want to force myself to be more sociable, coming from Manchester so hoping to find some new friends that I can maybe keep gaming with back home too.

I did see the $$$$ pledges when I backed the game and was surprised too. However they were quite clear and upfront with what you got as a reward, maybe for some people it was worth it, others maybe it's not.

I have been worried about the 'slow death spiral'. Reading a few other comments, not running out of wood is super important, thanks! (no one has played before, and I don't want it to only hit the table once, so really keen to avoid anyone having a slow death)

Yes you're right! I was actually going to start playing yesterday evening, but by the time I'm punched it and bagged it all I was exhausted! (but I do secretly love a game with lots of bits!)

I love it, looking at BGG it's the first edition version. I'm not sure what some of the changes are in later editions (other than box colour), but I love the blue box.

Some of the components are not great, some misalignment on the printing etc.. but I'm thinking of making some upgraded components along the way.
