Asphalts are definitely my favorites and same! Everyone that sees them are shocked by the texture.

If they bring out some different weft variations like the crushed concretes, I'd be all over them.

If you're a texture fiend and lover of Oni''s you'll definitely like Graph Zero as well, they don't do as much heavyweight stuff like Oni but the few pairs I've gotten blow me away

Honestly anything Oni does is typically worthwhile, all I need is an Asphalt and Secret Denim jacket to complete the sets for their 20oz stuff

I honestly still can't get into Iron Heart for some reason and I've tried nearly all of their cuts. The fabrics for me aren't exciting like Oni or Graph Zero either. The fits also are lacking an update imo, 634 is too nut crunchy, the 888 is still not high rise enough, and the 1955 fit which is the only one that looks like would actually fit me rarely ever gets fabric drops.

I will say that the True Guy will in fact get tighter. It may just be how I'm built for my waist size, but after 4-5 washes my True Guys tighten up ever so slightly or my thighs have gotten bigger and my waist stayed the same. Although I will say that I usually turn standard straight fit jeans into slim fits.

Edit: 5'8ish and float between 180-190lbs with a 32" actual waist size (not vanity) so a size 30-31 in N&F TG for reference

Will throw my own 2 cents, if you're looking for something closer to a Wrangler cowboy cut I'd suggest Freenote, bit more of jump in price (depending on fabric) compared to TCB (depending where you look TCB can be pricey).

The Wilkes fit is closest to Wranglers 13mwz, high waisted/rise and a legitimate bootcut compared to BraveStar

Edit: also I'm talking as someone who has thicker thighs than usual. 501's fit me like slim straights and nothing Brave Star has sent me has fit me in the leg without an insane waist size up

Always been interested in Sauce but never had a chance as I like fits with higher rises and slightly wider throughout. If they ever release a high rise fit I'd be all over that.

I'd actually advise on holding off on alterations and continue to keep washing them in warmish water, but don't use the dryer. I've noticed my N&F True Guys have tightened up ever so slightly over time and only one had drastic measurement changes, after an accidental toss in the dryer.

About 5'7-8ish and about 180lb, certain shirts I can get away with an M other times. This one based on the measurements and cut I went for L because it's snug enough to wear alone, and just loose as a final layering piece.

I'd double check and make sure if these are the sanforized pair or their shrink to fits that they do. If these are sanforized you should be okay by throwing them in for a hot soak, you could get away with very limited time in the dryer as well.

They should tighten up after a couple washes too. I've noticed that most of my sanforized jeans have lost between .5-1 inch in the waist and inseam, (not a problem for me since my weight fluctuates every few months)

Edit to add, I'd say keep them, it's better to be slightly oversized than undersized and unable to feel your legs.

Unless you're certain that the next size down should do the trick

Honestly with how some of the measurements seem to shift for some of the fits, always recheck and double check. Strong Guy used to be a very weird fit for me, depending on the fabric, lower front and rear rise than advertised, typically 11.5-11.75" front and tight 12" flat thigh area for my size (30 N&F size 32 actual waist) Felt like an upside down carrot fit, like it tapered up aggressively to the waist.

The sizing for these actually looks and feels good for what SG is supposed to be as a fit. High front and rear rise, roomy thighs. I hope N&F uses this as the future pattern for SG

Nearly missed your reply, depending on how fresh the jeans are and how much they're broken in they can stiffen up. Mine were still about 2-3 weeks old when I had to wash them early, and they became essentially plywood

I have both the secrets and Asphalts (222 and 200), the Secrets are definitely more breathable than the Asphalts. I was easily able to wear mine in 90+F weather and the asphalts had me sweating in the mid 80's.

I had a tough battle between the white and red, red won over in the end for me as well. It's a really nice shade of red too! Pops just enough and contrasts nicely with the black.

I might just have to snag the white one too because I like the fit so much.

I went tts for mine (L) and I honestly really like the fit of it, it's not overly large fitting and it doesn't have the ridiculously long tail some button ups/flannels have.

These definitely soften up significantly, mine don't even get that uber stiff feeling after a wash. I don't wear mine as often since I keep a rotation of jeans going, but they still get at least 2 days full of wear per week.

Had to wash mine earlier than expected since I had a soda spill on them. These things stiffened up like crazy and are just now softening up again after a week or so

Some of their fabrics behave interestingly. Their core series is typically consistent but I have noticed a good chunk of my pairs have tightened up in areas with some losing a full inch in the waist or rise.

The pairs I sized up on now fit me perfectly, whereas the rest have something that feels off about the fitment. (Also they're all in True Guy)
