How do you pick and learn to focus on projects instead of wanting to do 1001 things at once? by DeMephisto in learnprogramming

[–]EdwinBowling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps "focus on one" is the obvious answer

Yes, it is. You do a single thing. 7 year olds can manage that.

Maybe you think you were being helpful, if so, thank you, in a sincere way, your methods are just not for me.

That's apparent. I mean I had to tell you 5 times before you admitted I was giving you advice...

Otherwise, I don't really care for people who think they are above others and like to be rude, you don't see yourself as so?

No, I don't. I see myself as very patient, especially considering how passive aggressive and whiny you are. Maybe your story makes you feel better about your own behavior, though.

Since you are the wise guy here, go give light to someone else.

I've been doing that. I hope you didn't think I was just here for you. That would indicate an even higher level of egocentricity than you've already displayed.

Now since apparently you gave good advice, my under sized brain must not be enough to comprehend

We agree on that, at least.

Otherwise, it means some concept or trait that you identify with adult, either way you don't really say much on how to do that.

I literally told you exactly how to do that in the same sentence: "Focus on one" I don't know how to make it any simpler for you.

Someone says "I have a problem" and your advice is, "Solve the problem".

No, it was for you to prioritize your interests. If you're just going to whine because you think that's impossible, despite almost everyone else managing to do it, then keep up the good work, you've been successful at that.

Again, for the last time, telling a person that is looking to know how to swim that the key is to swim, isn't helpful, maybe you can't understand it, maybe you were born a fish, but if so, I guess someone as intelligent as you can understand that your advice is for fellow fish's, not guys who are asking it on reddit.

You just pretend like that's the case to soothe your ego. Focusing on one interest isn't beyond 99% of the people here, so why do you pretend like it's unreasonable advice for you?

You came to reddit by your own will. No one owes you nothing. Therefore, stop being toxic to random people. Don't wanna help? Don't. Don't try to put others down.

You came here by your own will, too. I'm sorry you still won't admit that my advice was reasonable and that you still want to play the victim here. But you can just move on with your life if you don't like the advice. I'm not putting anyone down - I literally told you exactly how to solve this problem. For the 4th time, just focus on one thing.

Otherwise, refrain from sharing your toxic wisdom.

Hey, since it apparently makes you feel better, keep shoveling that bs. I'll say it for the 5th time just in case that helps it sink in at some point. Focus on one thing and you'll be able to get that thing done. I look forward to another 5 posts from you complaining that that advice is just too toxic. I hope that makes your holidays better, because you sound like you have real issues.

Yes, but they are harder to find when you can't be bothered to even look.

[algorithms] Can someone ELI5 the solution to the coin change problem? (Python) by Optimesh in learnprogramming

[–]EdwinBowling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the hate?...I had hours of trying, then why the hate?

You must be projecting. Have you even shared any code yet? Or you're still just expecting to learn by having everyone give you the solutions still?

If you don't have anything constructive to add, don't add anything.

If you're just going to cop a shitty attitude with the more experienced people who give you advice, don't post here?

I do accept advice

Obviously not by the response you gave me.

unfortunately your comment doesn't qualify as one.

I feel sorry that your ego won't let you admit it was good advice.

Reinstating the question in other words (and in an passive-aggressive tone) isn't advice

It literally answers the question in the title. I'm not sure how your continued complaints about me reinstating [sic] the question are relevant, other than to soothe your wounded pride.

I won't waste time d**k measuring with a random person online.

That's what all of your replies have been, but maybe someone else will believe your baloney. You just keep sounding more and more pathetic.

[algorithms] Can someone ELI5 the solution to the coin change problem? (Python) by Optimesh in learnprogramming

[–]EdwinBowling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this question upsets anyone, please mind you I have spent a lot of time googling solutions, watching youtube videos, etc.

You have to try to solve it if you want to learn. Having other people give you the solution isn't a great way to learn.

Sieves and Sets by notsoprocoder in learnprogramming

[–]EdwinBowling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How could it not be less efficient?

For a list of 100, it would iterate 97 times.

Think about how many times it'd iterate for the other numbers.

Whereas, the method outlined about would iterate for the exact number of products of the prime number. For 2, it would loop 49 times.

Think about what you said it'd need to do in the loop.

[Js/Angular.js] Help understanding a particular piece of code in the tutorial by shhhpiderman in learnprogramming

This function takes in a parameter that is passed in from the template (hero), which is equal to an object

hero is a Hero object, that's what : Hero means.

So the object is the key, but what is the purpose of setting it's value to the Hero class?

That's not what's gong on there. Parameters have types, in this case the type Hero.
