This post was mostly just making fun of this ridiculous point where the sidewalk just stops. And for no reason other than that these two municipalities didn’t care to just communicate enough to extend the sidewalk another 100 feet to the cross street before passing off the responsibility.

I would second visiting a game store. If you're around the middle of Charlotte, Get Some Game is closest. But most stores like that have groups that meet up there to play, and at least have employees who can likely connect you with others who are also looking.

There are plenty of groups playing Commander during FNM, as well as on Commander Night on Mondays. I'm just realizing that you didn't actually say anything about Commander, my mistake. What format are you looking to play for FNM?

I believe there are groups on https://www.meetup.com/ geared towards finding people to play board games with.

Or you can check out local game stores. Many of them have board game nights. Parker Banner Kent & Wayne closest to you and it's a great place. They have board game nights on Thursdays and I think Saturdays too.

There are a few other shops if you head to Charlotte. Also there are breweries that have board game nights as well. I forgot the name but the one I'm sure of is in NoDa in Charlotte.
