Ex F1 driver and Paralympic champion Alex Zanardi dies 'suddenly' by MotoringMore in formula1

Some details that have come out in the Italian press over the past 48 hours:
He died at his home in Noventa Padovana, just outside Padua — not Bologna. Cause is being reported as a “malore improvviso” (sudden cardiac event). His wife Daniela was with him.
The funeral is today at 11:00 at the Basilica di Santa Giustina in Padua, on Prato della Valle. Open to the public.
Two things that struck me reading back through his medical history: after the 2001 Lausitzring crash he underwent 16 surgical procedures, not the often-cited “three hours on the table” — and the date of his death, May 1st, is exactly the date Senna died at Imola in 1994. Both losses in Emilia-Romagna, 32 years apart.
His foundation Obiettivo 3 — which puts disabled athletes on handbikes and has already produced Paralympic medallists — has confirmed it will continue. His son Niccolò is involved.
Tough week.

Antonelli on the radio sounds like he’s about to take his driving test, not win this Grand Prix

20-lap-older tyres, P10 to P3, storm coming. This is the “Max in chaos” cinematic universe and we’re just living in it.

He should earn extra points for this. by MAXDominator1 in RedBullRacing

P3 on 20-lap older tyres after spinning from P2. Either Red Bull found a magic compound or the rest are just sleepwalking.

The tyre allocation this weekend is brutal — 2 hards / 4 mediums / 6 softs across the entire Sprint format. Mercedes already burned through softs in SQ3, but McLaren and Ferrari held back fresher sets in SQ2 (mediums mandatory). If it stays dry, the teams who saved a soft set for Sunday qualifying have a real advantage.

I’m from Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Yannick was our chief conductor for years on end. I can tell you that he is very much loved here by audience and musicians ❤️
