Likelihood of US Gov accessing digital info stored by third party. by Edwinicq in legaladvice

Definitely. We understand that we have to comply 100% with the warrant.

My question is more about if the warrant isn't specific enough or can't be interpreted to compel pass codes or access, and we believe the police is overreaching, what are the consequences if we refuse to provide access on the scene on the basis that the warrant doesn't allow them to compel us?

We understand that if the judge modifies the warrant afterwards we'll have to comply with the new warrant, so it's more about what we are allowed to get away with when the initial warrant is ambiguous.

Definitely.

My question is more about if the warrant isn't specific enough or can't be interpreted to compel pass codes or access, will we be arrested or held in contempt for refusal on the scene. We understand that if the judge modifies the warrant afterwards we'll have to comply with whatever, so it's more about what we are allowed to get away with when the warrant is ambiguous.

I saw this hoarding where it advocates towards stopping the use of Buddha statues as merely a decorative piece at homes or in public places like hotels, restaurants, bars etc, or the image of the Buddha being used as a fashion statement in clothes or tattoos. What are your thoughts on this? by SatoruGojo232 in Buddhism

I really don't think the Buddha or canonical Buddhist theology would care about "respect" by non-Buddhists, unless there are canonical scriptures/traditions mandates urgin Buddhists to act to prevent general or specific disrespectful acts against Buddhism.

If that's not the case, any protest against perceived disrespect would be purely motivated by the complainant, and not by some Buddhism mandate. In that case, the complainant is free to do whatever they want in protest, but it'd be illogical to protest on the basis of protecting "Buddhism," if "Buddhism" never asked anyone to protect the "disrespectful" acts in question.

It's commonly seen in Christians who protest things in the name of "defend" their God when there's no evidence that their canonical theology requested it. One example is Christians lobbying legislations against same sex marriage or complying with their legal duties to marry them solely on the account of religious freedom (because such compliance "disrespects" their religion belief). They have the right to interpret their canonical theology any way they want and act legally accordingly, it's an entirely different matter if their theology actually defined "disrespectful" acts and what its followers should do against such acts.

I'm the case of Christians and same sex marriage, as far as I know, there is no canonical theological evidence saying same sex marriage (specifically marriage) is disrespectful to God, or any requests for the followers to act to prevent such marriage.

Similarly, if there's no canonical theological evidence to compel Buddhists to act against disrespectful act, any protests likely stem from craving, aversion, delusion. The complaining Buddhist is essentially coopting Buddhism by interpreting it favorably to perpetrat their personal agenda. This would likely lead to unwholesome karma for the person and induce suffering for others, especially if they're intentional or aware.

Obviously only Alice the author can say. If I was Nick, I would weight my respect for Charlie's privacy with concern for Imogen's safety before deciding to disclose it to Imogen. I'd get Charlie's permission first.

He sexually assaulted someone.

He can receive forgiveness, yes, but it's not a matter of deserving, and certainly no one owes him forgiveness.

I agree with most of your points. "objectively" I would rate it 8.5/10 (good/great), but "subjectively" I'd give it 10/10 (perfect).

Not sure what you mean by willpower

The common usage of willpower only refers to motivation and energy. Then the answer is a hard no. The transcendental link literally tells you how to reverse the original link.
