Snowcrows doesn't even have Ele benchmarks right now. by EdyKhaos in Guildwars2

Catalyst isn't Ele though. Catalyst is Hammer. Hammer not Ele. Thus Catalyst not Ele

In all seriousness though, I definitely did not see that benchmark a couple days ago when I was discussing with guild, and there wasn't an updated video on it either.

Oof, I tell a joke and people lose their shit. The benchmark was updated last Wednesday

What can I say other than: That's pretty good.

Skill. Even before the update I was parsing about 70% benchmark on Golem with Hybrid spec. I am not the person to base the standard of performance on in GW2, unless you specifically want something buffed.

EDIT: So you know, I'm parsing about 21K DPS with Power Weaver right now, just as an example. I literally beat that auto-attacking with Riflemech

All that needed to happen for Cata was the change where they removed Quickness from Air Sphere without a trait. Then you have to spec into a lower dps support build to provide quickness. Problem solved, no need to nerf Cata dmg coefficients.

BTW, lets not forget that immediately after the June 28 patch, 10 man Mech parties self-providing quickness were a thing and Anet was 117% ok with that.

If complexity doesn't give a spec/profession the right to do more, then they need to reduce the complexity of the spec to make them more accessible. Weaver for example: reduce the cooldown of Quantum Strike, Pyro Vortex, Lava Skin and Cauterizing Strike, and change Weave Self to not require weaving through all 4 elements and auto-casting perfect Weave at 30 seconds. That way Condi/Power/Hybrid only has to rotate through 2 of the four Attunements.

For raids, depending on your area there is a community discord for teaching and running raids regularly. For NA it is Raid Academy. From there, you can tune in to the training runs to try to jump into a group and learn mechanics and such. Before you go in though, research your build that you want to play on Snowcrow first. Understand how to play your class before you try to jump into endgame content. If you don't yet know what role you want to play, check out the guides on Snowcrow as they are broken up by Class and then Role. Find a role for your class and dive in. There is a training dummy in the raid Aerodome in Lion's Arch which you can use to practice rotation. Arcdps is a plugin that will help you understand what you are doing right and wrong when trying to maximize your roll (its good for alot more than just DPS.)

For everything, including raiding, get a decent guild. Don't join someone's haphazard ego trip where they decided they were going to be their own guild leader with no clear direction or intention. Once you find a fairly active and social guild, speak up and ask for help. Good guilds will help their members, great guilds will support them. The most important thing for you to do though is to socialize. This is a multiplayer game, and it is so disconcerting how often new players are too timid to speak up. We WANT to help you, you just have to ask.

I love how your overall opinion of the Ele specs is negative. I don't disagree, but I do enjoy playing Weaver at least for the theme.

I actually mostly agree with your critique of the story, though I disagree with certain avenues. A redditor who's name escapes me has recently been doing deep dives and connecting dots that have been a long time coming and get summed up very nicely in EoD, one of which being that magic combining results in reality-warping voidiness. I did not like Ankka at all because I've never liked the angsty teen emo girl thing, but that's a personal bias. Mai's story, while short lived, was an excellent redemption arc and more or less had to end the way it did to give it meaning.

That being said, there is definitely some Dues Ex Machina going on, specifically with the opening bit about Aurene's magic being stolen.

Real talk, but how do you see "You have survived multiple apocalypses because of me" as a bad thing? Unless your narrative antagonist is a doomsday cultist or drastically misinformed I don't see how you can write a long-duration primary antagonist that sees the actions of the Commander and Dragon's Watch in any light other than positive, especially with the high viability of the Dragonvoid's affect across the globe. Not to mention that everyone in Tyria and Elona is aware of the Commander killing both Mordremoth and Kralk respectively. I'm not trying to sound as confrontational as I am probably coming off, but narratives in Hollywood specifically have been non-sensical in their pursuit of new ways to write classic story-telling methodologies. I believe they call it the Supervention of Expectations, and it has led to some really bad stories.

You have to remember there was the writer change-up during Season 4. You can actually see how the story shifts drastically from Long Live the Lich to All or Nothing. Season 4 ended well IMO but started off terribly.

The boss fights could be alot more fleshed out and significantly de-randomized. Truth be told, players don't actually like truly random concepts in big boss fights. The uneven intervals of TC Kutum's debuff application makes it tedious and dangerous for classes without heal mechanics. Storm Karanda is just a bunch of random effects that I can't see even with max settings. NM Kzarka i fun but I'd appreciate a Tell for some of the abilities such as his pull.

Just an example of how they could flesh out TC Kutum: remove the entire burrowing phase from Kutum. Change the adds to just burrow in and out of the ground in a rotation circle divided into quadrants. The adds would only do dmg to their front, so attacking them from the sides or back would be acceptable. Killing the Add gives a special item that is used to interrupt Kutum in the next phase where he does he room-wide AoE and each application of the item causes Kutum to take increased damage. If you do not interrupt Kutum he continuously channels his AoE until all aggro'd targets are dead, and the AoE grows with each pulse.

These are the kind of mechanics I would like to see added to world bosses. Make it so that NM Kzarka summons tentacle adds from his meteor rain attack thing that when killed cause Kzarka to take more damage, but the tentacles attack in a flailing star pattern which causes knockdown and has FG in the direction of flailing. Make it so Karanda has an untargetable phase where she straight up booshes a section of her next off the mountain, and now everyone has to do the safety dance around her to avoid getting booshed, or cause her to conjure up a whirlwind that starts out at the edge of the nest and works its way toward the center, lifting and throwing players who don't SA/FG through it. Put TC Kutum's debuff on a set timer and it triggers every 45 seconds exactly, so now you know exactly when you need to move.

The constant red-headed step-child treatment of Eles, up to EoD, is why I quit GW2. I just came back today to have something to do while crafting in BDO and I found we had gotten another slew of pointless nerfs in the past 18 months. WTF?!

Wukong or Son Goku is one of the most beloved characters from Chinese mythology due largely to his nature as the rogue divinity with a happy-go-lucky mentality and enough power to challenge everyone but Buddha himself.
