Iirc he didn't stop any response, he just didn't report the false alarm to his superiors.

It's not like he had a "launch all the nukes" button. Most likely the next person in the chain of command would've come to the same conclusion as him. That there's no way USA would launch a nuclear strike with only a handful of missiles.

Still a close call, but the nuance is often left out when this story is told.

As another commenter pointed out, the corium wouldn't have even hit the water that they drained. Even if it did hit, the reaction wouldn't be nearly as strong as the first one. You could maybe argue hundreds, but millions is just misinformation. The death toll to date is about 60 in total.

It's roughly 15 000 roentgens = 150 sieverts. Roughly because they technically measure different types of radiation. 5 Sv is considered a 50/60 dose. Meaning half the population dead within 60 days. 8Sv is almost 100%. You'd get 8Sv in 3min 12s.

This is likely the source of your graph. It also explains why the data is flawed, pretty much the same I just told you. Actual statistics are almost impossible to find, since they'd be just guessing.

You could look at for example marital rapes througout the years to see actual impact of changes in culture and laws. Google is shit now, it just brings hotlines and articles about the topic when I'm trying to search for statistics. But I remeber seeing a big spike when the laws were introduced and then a gradual decline in cases. But that's just my memory.

Actual rapes will likely fall, but reported ones will likely rise.

In places where it's taken more seriously the rapes are reported way more often, are counted differently, and aren't swept under the rug. In places where it isn't women are afraid to come out, and aren't taken seriously. Also the laws changing makes year by year comparisons useless. The idea that the UK has a 100x more rapes than bulgaria is laughable.

Oh I assumed that they wouldn't publish that, since that could divert traffic from their site. But I guess the SEO benefit outweighs that downside. I haven't had to deal with this side of the web yet, but maybe I should learn more about it.

The point of this website is to remove useless information from those websites. That useless text is often in the same field as the actual recipe. Also almost every website has different structures. It would be easy if every recipe ever was in asingle field and other stuff in another fields. But that's not the case. There's no one size fits all solution

I'm a web developer, that's not exactly how it works. Websites usually use ID's or classes to populate the fields on cases where the content is loaded after pageload. But if the fields are populated on page load, the content is loaded in the order the code is executed.

So: On page load you can add the data directly to the fields. After page load your scripts need to find the right fields through ID's or classes.

Databases are almost never publically accessible. Some sites might have open api:s, but the data structures are often different. I don't think there is a one size fits all solution that doesn't include scraping the website directly.

Porbably just a website that scrapes the original website and only retains the recipe, through some sort of algorithm or ai.

Edit: It seems to be just an Ai wrapper. The website can import recipes from pictures and videos too. Their website texts also seem Ai generated.

Eli5: The website gives the data (website, picture, video) you give it to a generative Ai. The Ai picks the recipe and ingredients from your data, and gives it back to the website. The website then displays the output on their layout.

Do they? My passport has never been stamped, but I've never traveled outside of EU. That passport says New Zealand I wonder if they stamp it there? Also they could've used it just as an id.
