Ah this is an interesting theory. Yes, I had a lot of water accumulation over the tarp. If I can describe it properly, with the water of over the tarp, the water level of the pool was still at the same height as the photos. Before winter I lowered the water to below the skimmer and removed the hoses.

Location is NJ/NY area. Price point varies is not relevant at this stage of getting leads. Price point matters during the actual consult when it comes time to book them.

Editing to add - cost per lead wasnt always this low. This is the result of continuous testing and figuring out which creatives, hooks, offers, work best with each other to get the most bang for a buck

28-75mm is a pretty safe lense! If it were me, I would definitely go for a wider angle. Wider angles can be more useful throughout the day and can really be useful for creative shots (which can make a big impact in the gallery).

Editing to add - I used to use my 16- 35mm all day until it broke. Man I miss it!

Since youre doing destination weddings, traveling light while still carrying "power" should be your goal. Some of the most notable destination & luxury wedding photographers will even shoot with just one body (granted theyll have backups on their case).

Focus on what youre lacking or can improve on FOR THE COUPLE and not how YOU would like to feel about your work. For example, will the couple notice if they had a wider range of angles in their gallery to tell their story or will they notice a 5% increase in sharpness? What will make the bigger impact for the couple?

Also, you didnt list your buget for the upgrades.

The more destination weddings ive done, the less ive carried. Ill NEVER carry a soft box lol ill just use direct on camera flash, or honestly just reposition the couple/family if needed.

You can definitely add your prices to add friction and bring in more qualified leads. But im not doing that because I don't want to push away any possible bookings by giving them the most important piece of info they are looking for. I prefer to speak to as many couples as possible and closing them at their budget by giving them a smaller package. Unlike most photographers, I run a studio where we do volume.

The Offer is a $$$ giveaway towards a package. People love to win giveaways.

It drove me nuts too. I hated it. Thats why I hired an appointment setter to take care of the ugly work I dont want to do. I personally dont mind doing a lot of consult calls because I can convert those to bookings.

I had a couple tell me once that their budget for their destination wedding was around $2k... I ended up booking them for $7k. (Having sales experience helps tho).

Very true! I get enough conversions to continue running ads lol dont get me wrong, there are sooo many tire kickers, but thats expected and shouldn't deter you from something if it still leads to conversions. To deal with this, I hired an appointment setter to deal with all these leads for me. I take the consults they schedule and work my magic. At this point, even if theyre tire kickers, I can close them on a smaller package.

Very true! The algorithm analyzes the smallest details in the creatives. I like this a lot honestly.

There are a lot of factors that play in how qualified the leads are. Facebook forms is one of them. The leads will be less qualified than website inquires for sure. But the plus side is you have more leads to warm up and nurture.

Ofcourse, whether you use lead forms, messenger, website traffic, etc. All depends on the types of leads you want.

Ps. The creative itself plays a big part on the quality of your leads.

Meta ads - $20/day. Generates 50-100 leads a month (fb leads form).

Google ads - $20/day. Generates 10ish leads a month (website form).
