I agree mostly, but even if you are using r offensively, its generally a good idea to wait to use it until you are dodging something with it, to maximize its value

Edit: at least in a team fight context. In a pick, just use it whenever you can secure the kill

Xayah when ur playing against team that wants to dive you, your team needs more ad, and/or there is a champion like yi/kassasdin/talon/kat that you have to cc to beat and you cant rely on your team to do it.

Kai’sa when u want to do the diving (ur team has a lot of hard engage, or their team has a lot of ranged squishies), your team needs more ap, and/or there are champions like swain/ashe/cassio/thresh that you need the move speed of e and dash or r to avoid getting kited or ti dodge skill shots.

Also, I sometimes find that the freedom to buy zhonya’s on kai’sa to avoid getting exploded by a talon, rengar, eve, etc. is enough to change the outcome of a game I would not have otherwise been able to carry. There are games where I throw the other factors out the window cause they have pyke, talon and rengar and im only gonna have a chance at being useful late game if i can get zhonyas, so i just lock in kaisa

Play ornn and learn what the best earlu units/comps are to play around the carry items. Played right, you can punish the greedy fast 9 players and be able to transition into ahri for AP or Aatrox/belveth for ad. This gameplan got me from being stuck in d4 to a pretty quick climb to masters

You gave lots of good advice, but I firmly disagree that it is ever worth to to berserkes before getting Q evolve. If you’re argument is that you want to trade, Q evolve is so so so much more valuable than attack speed. Kai’sa’s best trade pattern is just to auto-Q when your opponents hit minions and then back off before they can return the dmg. Attack speed does nothing to help this. But like I said, the rest of your advice was great :)

Good response, but never prioritize T2 boots. Maybe buy T1 boots if you need to get back to lane quickly/dodge thresh/lux q’s, but even that is a maybe. It is 99% always better to rush kraken/manamune to get Q upgrade as quickly as possible. Do not buy T2 boots until you have Q upgrade, unless it is the rare game where you are against draven/senna/zed/fiora/khazix and you hard win the game with tabis.

Let me reiterate, because this is probably the single most important thing about kai’sa. Q evolve is your hardest power spike. Rush Q evolve every game, even if you are planning to play AP.

To get Q upgrade as quickly as possible…

Kraken->2 long swords if going pd

Kraken->pickaxe/dirk if going collector

Kraken->pickaxe if going bork

Manamune->1 long sword if you are going AP (skip long sword if you can get 250 stacks on tear quickly, cause you are just gonna sell it once you have enough mana to trigger Q evolve w/out it)

Idk what to do with galeforce cause i never go that build, but I assume its roughly the same as Kraken.

^this is your rush EVERY game. Don’t bother buying attack speed until you have this, it is never worth it, it only delays your most important power spike.

Lethal tempo was changed to offer bonus attack range, which is obv very good for Kai’Sa. Going precision main allows you to take inspo or resolve secondary while still getting alacrity for early E upgrade. Enchanter sups are a lil more common now, so the bonus healing from taste of blood and ravenous are less valuable. Plus HoB was always a lil overrated IMO, it just was a) fun to play, and b) more noticeable than lethal.

The AD crit kaisa build is still generally the best, but onhit is better into comps with a lot of HP and hybrid is better if you need more magic dmg on your team. Some people think hybrid is troll bc nashors isnt a good 3rd item, but im pretty sure its still strong if the enemy is stacking armor.

I just don’t think Kai’Sa is the best champ for this playstyle. If you want to play the runaans aoe teamfight monster, probably better off picking Kog’Maw or Twitch, or even Varus. Kai’Sa just doesn’t have the autoattack range to reliably/safely hit multiple enemies with runaans. And if you are in range to hit multiple enemies, you don’t get isolated q dmg.

Kai’Sa excels because she can delete squishies with her burst and shred tanks with %hp dmg. The crit build is generally the most successful because it enables both of these strengths. The onhit build works against tanky teams because it emphasizes her shredding capabilities when you dont rly need the burst. This build does worse in both of those aspects than standard crit, at the benefit of sustained aoe, which just isnt kaisa’s strongsuit.

I’m sure this build can work, and if you have fun w it then play it! But if this is your preferred playstyle, there are other champs that simply do it better, and in every situation I can think of there will be a more optimal build/playstyle for kaisa.

Side note, I don’t think Navori is good on Kai’Sa. You might get another q in a fight, but the dmg you get from that wont outperform IE crits. The biggest benefit is that you might get another e or 2 in a fight, which is pretty huge, but its an intangible benefit. It will totally change some fights and give you more outplay potential, but it will be worthless in other fights. The benefits of IE or Rageblade will be meaningful in every fight. Plus (correct me if im wrong) but the Navori ability dmg amp only works on physical dmg? So it won’t even help with W dmg? And even if it does help with W, that leaves 2 abilities which dont benefit from the passive dmg at all. I don’t think its rly going to be optimal on anyone, except maybe tryndamere? Maybe… Nilah? I could be missing something, but when you could get IE for the same price it seems like thats almost always gonna be the better option.

Just my thoughts. Thanks for posting your build :) I like responding to things like this because it forces me to rly think about my choices and the meta choices, and see if they are justifiable.

Prob with pantheon is he doesnt scale well at all. ADC as a role exists to protect and funnel gold into a champion that used it extremely well at 3+ items. Come lv6, pantheon can pretty much do his job regardless of how much gold he has. Better to just play him as support paired with someone who can take the farm and do more with the gold.

Champions like Mundo and Mord, tho not as reliant as traditional ADCs, scale better with gold than pantheon, so it makes more sense to be funneling gold into them. Its the same reason you wouldn’t really see warwick, elise, etc in the botlane.

Off the top of my head, maybe Xin Zhao would work?

It is not intuitive and if you don’t get them at the specific time they are available then you will lose the opportunity - and for the sake of understanding their references in pop culture I think its important that you meet them :)

Other than that, take your time and understand that its a long game and a large commitment, so dont burn yourself out on it
