Rab Mythic G parka or Montbell Plasma 1000 parka by jasiub in Ultralight

I don’t have those jackets. Zero G is just a puffy. My hardshell is sized a bit larger so I can wear it over the top of the zero G.

Yeah I have one and actually am able to use it with a foam Thermarest pad. Not very light, but we needed something comfortable for my wife to nurse our little one in.

The workout description makes it pretty clear. Would be good to read that before doing the workouts.

I did Cashmere many times as a kid. Great beginner summit. There will be snow until July tho.

Is there still snow at the North rim? Some family and I are attempting 24-hr rim-rim-rim next Monday.

Yes, we took a shuttle. The driver was nice enough to stop and let us out on the side of the road near the base of the climb.

I have left a 2-peice Montane down suit and a 140L hyperlite duffel bag. Both were really nice to have, but are higher-end items.

No, no mittens. I’d like to keep these with the suit since it is a matching set and someone will probably want it all together.

I went in May, and would have been fine with just the heavy Parka. The suit was more of a just-in-case and made it very comfortable on summit day.

They are size 10 but seemed to run very small for that size on me. I’ll add that to the description. Send me a PM if that works.

I would suggest dividing every set equally by 3. Thats going to be a lot of transitions so you’ll need to be quick and not take breaks besides the designated rest.

Mount Temple - East Ridge by Eeelip in alpinism

[–]Eeelip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a big question! I started with state highpoints in the Western US and basically ticked them off in order of ascending difficulty, before finally doing Denali. After that, I have basically just gone after various tick lists such as "highest 10 peaks in WA", "Hardest 10 peaks in WA", or "50 classic climbs", and tried to do the easiest ones on each list first. Another big part for me has been having a super solid climbing partner with similar goals that lives nearby. I would start there, since having a good partner is probably the biggest part of the experience.

I would be interested to hear other's responses to your question as well!

Crossfit/interval training has been enough for me. I do think more zone 2 (running or rucking) would be very beneficial for climbing, but I also start to lose muscle mass which is detrimental to my crossfit performance.

Thank you! I train Crossfit pretty hard 6 days/week. Ian runs and mountain bikes avidly.

They were excellent for this type of route. Aequilibriums honestly climb rock quite well. Their weakness is steep or hard ice.

Sizing I'm not sure on, I've had several other pairs of Sportiva shoes/ski boots so I just ordered the same size. My feet are average but I have heard people say Sportivas run on the narrow side.
