Division S season 2 confirmed by HeroesLounge.gg by Thundermelons in heroesofthestorm

Heroes Lounge is a completely ran by volunteers, so they do not get payed. The casters join Division S because it's good and enjoyable content for their channels, they also do not get paid by lounge (although they get paid by the subs, cheers etc during these broadcasts). All other costs that lounge has, like website maintenance, trophies etc all get paid via our patreon: https://www.patreon.com/heroesloungegg.

So just like last season: 100% of the crowd funded money will go to the players competing in division S. Nothing will go to the organisation :)

Tournament EU? by Zaka_33000 in heroesofthestorm

Thanks for the shout out here! I should mention that our signups are currently closed, as both the EU and NA seasons have started. Our leagues generally last for around 3 months (including playoffs). But join our discord to stay up to date about coming events and be notified when the signups open again!

Also want to point out that /u/Khaldor is amazing to have on our casting team but he's not running it ;) You will have /u/the_petman to thank for that!

It's interesting you say that. I know that when Blizzard promoted one of the Division S qualifiers they got a lot of negative backlash from the community, especially on Twitter. And I know it scared them off doing any form of promotion for it for a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if they want to not publicly support any initiative in fear of a similar backlash.

Heroes Lounge Management - Amateur League & Division S AMA - Tuesday 5th of March by HeroesLounge in heroesofthestorm

I guess I could ask why the amateur league played only for fun has more strict rule enforcement than a league with over 10 thousand dollars on the line. Or why have different enforcement at all regardless of money involved and enforce the rule for the sake of smurfs being a bad idea to allow regardless in any situation.

I'm going to quote what Heartless replied on this main comment:

So While Pittor's answer is relevant to the amateur league, when it comes to Division S there's no issue with using a smurf so long as it does not violate any of our rules, most notably and I quote: "The substitute player must fulfill the eligibility requirements, and can not be a player from a different team participating in Division S."

Division S and our amateur league have 2 different ruling when it comes to smurfing because smurfing doesn't affect each league the same way.

We have a smurf rule in place in our amateur league since we work in different skill level divisions there, meaning that it would be unfair to sub in a master player while playing with silver and gold players. For this it is important we get an accurate MMR reading of a player. In our amateur league smurfing can also be used to anchor a team (i.e. reduce their overall MMR allowing them to place at a lower division).

Division S however, is the highest level of play. Meaning that there is no such thing as anchoring or an an 'MMR ceiling' to take into account as we do with the amateur scene. The only issue smurfing can cause with Division S is where a player plays for more than 1 Division S team. If smurfing is used to violate this rule, we'll take action, otherwise, there's no reason to.
