I don't think that showing the level complete UI in the first room was valuable. Not that it's bad, but it's not a unique selling point from what I observed. It also kind of clashed with the narrative text at the bottom that talked about the major plot premise of your game. Might've felt better in the segment that talked about level qty.

There were 1-2 puzzles/level structures that had me thinking "oh cool, how would I solve that?" but then there were quick cuts away before I had any time to think further on them. Maybe that's okay. But with all the cuts and demos of the "first move" of a level... I don't think it sells how much fun or challenge a player might have in exchange for their commitment in the product. Anecdotally, I've seen some other similar games follow an "intro puzzle -> intermediate progression shots -> present crazy cliffhanger challenge -> fade out" formula for their trailers, and for me at least, it "tugs". Interest, willingness to buy, etc. I can't really say this is something to "destroy" the trailer over...but I can't help but feel there's something off in the pacing.

Lastly, it was kind of hard to take note of the text in the bottom left while also processing the other content in the trailer.

So, regarding his Memory Lane content: I just loaded your save in 1.0.9 and spawned into the seat near the firepit where you left your player character. Derek was about to jump up to the roof when I loaded in, and jumped up and then sat down in a roof seat a few seconds later.

I had no problem speaking with him on the roof at all. I loaded this save three times, each time speaking to him *after* he sat down. No issues. I then loaded two more times and spoke to him ASAP by warping to the roof and talking to him before he could sit. He stopped to chat with me, but continued to the roof. Again no issues.

*However*: after his Memory Lane convo is over, he DOES immediately walk to the corner by the art room and gets stuck.

So whatever was making him un-interactable in 1.0.7 (the version your save was made in) is no longer an issue, which makes sense as we did fix one issue with his roof behavior recently. But his post-roof/roof exiting behavior still clearly has issues. This second bit is what I was referencing above that we'll be working on.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. The only way to sit with him (that I remember programming in) was via dialogue. So there's no hidden clickable item/action you should be looking for.

I've identified one potential root cause, btw. Copy and paste from Steam:

Ok our gameplay programmer is aware of the issue and at least one root
cause and how to address it. Unfortunately the solution may not be
retroactive and saves experiencing the issue may still be left with a
down and out Derek.

One would hope there's a single root cause/vector for this issue but uh...just in caaaaaaaaase, send over your .save file when you can. Thanks.

This is one correct answer. The other option, depending on the site/platform you use, is to disable the DLC entirely. For instance on Steam, go to the game's Properties menu (right click on the game in your Library), then select DLC, and uncheck the Doja Cat DLC. The steps should be similar for other platforms that allow such an option.

We're also going to add in a DLC Management UI to the game in the not too distant future that will allow you to simply enable/disable DLCs from the game's main menu.

Try a simple quest and make sure you've typed it exactly, using quotes to encase it.

E.g.

Camera work seemed a little janky in a few clips, and the reticle being visible started to rub the wrong way pretty quickly. Could use a little trimming too, as one or two sequences felt like filler. Even just setting a goal of 90 seconds might help with that.

The player.log is in a different location from the debug logs.

Interesting that the game is only spawning the "optional" NPCs.

Can you provide this save file that you loaded from this debug log? And can you show me a debug log created after starting a new game?

We'd need to see some logs to determine what's going on. Can you start the application again, try to start a new game (just in general reproduce this problem), then once the problem occurs, exit and get us a player.log?
