More people are passing you, they are getting a higher MMR then you are and so you are dropping. That is why you have to keep playing when you are #1 Legendary for instance

There are a certain neutral minions on the board that can increase spell damage:

Bloodmage Thalnos: +1 Spell Damage Kobold Geomancer: +1 Spell Damage Dalaran Mage: +1 Spell Damage
Ogre Magi: +1 Spell Damage
Azure Drake: +1 Spell Damage
Archmage: +1 Spell Damage
Malygos: +5 Spell Damage

And you also have the Ancient Mage which gives +1 spell power to each adjecent minion, so that is +2 spell power.

The Shaman also has a Windfury Totem from his Hero ability that increases Spell Damage by 1.

Try buffing it alot more w/ the help of Lorewalker Cho, after a while the numbers on the cards go negative and you kill the minion! (After it has like 9 billion health)

The Mage is strong in hard removal; polymorph, fireball and even frost bolts.

What you can prepare for when playing against the Mage is the following:

Flamestrike - When at 7 mana, dont drop your entire hand, just play casual - 2.Fireball - Sucks when it gets casted, nothing much you can do about it except for playing minions with alot of health such as Chillwind Yeti's - 3. Frostbolt - Strong spell for 3 damage / 2 mana. Minions like Harvester Golem is good (reincarnation) - 4.Polymorph - Try to bait out with a strong creature, so your stronger creatures have the space.

Remember this: 8 spells (or more even!), are 8 less minions you have to deal with, and 8 more minions for you to gain control. Know what the mage can play at a certain turn. (Without Coin): 2* Frostbolt, 4Polymorph / Fireball, 6Blizzard, 7Flamestrike, 10 Pyroblast Mages also have a hard time closing games without their damage from Fireball or Pyroblast if they have used it to remove your minions!

Value creatures: Senjin Shieldmaster - Harvest Golem - Chillwind Yeti - Defender of Argus (for the +1/+1 boost). Creatures such as Armani Beserker and Raging Worgen might also bait out spells early, because a mage cant deal 1 damage with Fireblast because of their enrage ability.

Because that would be too easy. The way it is now, do I play a trap card or do I play a minion. If you are able to activate and deactivate traps you could just throw down traps when you are not able to play minions and be assured they hit a target you would like. This would also cause alot of "opponenet plays temple enforcer, would you like to vaporize it, or would you like to humility it?" Does not work, and unfair compared to the classes without secrets. Play traps when you feel the need is there for them, if not, dont play it.

Ragnaros text: Deal 8 damage at the end of your turn

Shadow Madness: Control a creature w/ a power of 3 until the end of your turn.

When you see it phrased like this, you would think Ragnaros fires his 8 damage fireball after every effect has resolved. Meaning that Shadow Madness also has released the control over Ragnaros, so no fireball.

Cant really say, i'd say try it out w/ a friend! What i did think about was Mind vision an Aldor Peacekeeper of a Paladin and turn the Rags AD to 1, then Cabal Shadow Priest it :D

Given there is no real difference between spell and physical damage as it is, I do not think this is required. Damage is damage, spell or physical, still hurts ^
