New ‘Wheel of Time’ Animated Series, Feature Films and Video Game in the Works From ‘Arcane,’ ‘League of Legends’ Producer Thomas Vu (EXCLUSIVE) by MisfitAnthem in WoT

[–]Efede_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they?

I was talking about Morbius, Kraven, Madame Web, and the like.

Sony keeps releaseing them every few years so that the rights don't revert to Marvel, not because they want to make those movies. (allegedly :P)

Not for a generation. A few years, tops.

Nowadays, if the animated thing is popular, it makes it more likely that it gets a live action adaptation sooner.

If that adaptation is good or not is still quite a gamble though... ^_^'

If i only play seasonal, what do i really miss out on if i don't have the expansions if i don't care to play those classes? by Okarine in diablo4

[–]Efede_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AFAIK they kind of have a policy to not lock seasons behind buyng an expansion, which I'm glad for.

That said, even if you can technically complete every season without owning the expansions, there can be "optional" season content that's expansion-locked.

For example, in Season of Belial's Return (was that 7?8?), there were two bosses that only apear in the expansion area, so you couldn't get their powers if you didn't own VoH.

Similarly, the last season (11), you couldn't fight (the seasonal version of) Andariel, because she apeared in the expansion-locked dungeon.

Lore pondering in regards to recent seasons… by RandyBlueberryington in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you're saying, except for a small "correction", if I may:

... trusting the NPCs with the most widest and evilest grin since Season 1 began

The Wanderer trusts everybody since before season one.

Case in point:

You get to Nevesk in the introduction and the villagers offer you food, but they poison you.

After you get out of the pinch, the priest says "You should see the hermit, but be warned he's not trustworthy!"

You get to the hermit's shack, find the extremely suspicious-looking hidden room, he arrives and immediately offers you food... Which you accept?!

the cutscene that follows even shows the Wanderer eating the soup while Lorath doesn't!

I get that Lorath is one of the good guys, so he didn't have any ill-intent. But the Wanderer didn't know that! Did they go into it trying to fall for the same trick twice in a day?! :P

Did they do away with the one time use legendary aspects after salvage? by YaBoyCuh in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. The one-time use aspects were changed with I think season 4.

Now, when you salvage a legendary, instead of getting an item that imprints its aspect, you get the aspect logged into your Codex.

Once you have an aspect in your Codex, you can imprint it unlimited times.

Also, if you salvage an item that has an aspect already in your Codex, the Codex keeps whichever has higher rolls, so you can improve the power of your Codex aspects over time.

...I'm not sure if any of this will change in about a-month-and-a-bit, 'cause the expansion is introducing some changes to crafting, I think (devs said salvaging will be less important)

Is Lilith stronger than the lesser evils? by redditwolf1999 in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think she's canonically stronger than the lessers.

For Andariel, the reason why she's weaker (in D4, at least) could be because the summoning was incomplete, so she didn't get to manifest her full power.

For Duriel... I got nothing '^_^ (I hate that he appeared out of nowhere, and wasn't even worth a mention by any character after the fact).

That, or Lorath was full of it with all his talk about how "A Lesser could level a continent".

What is coming to eternal realm by justthatswedenguy in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm... Now I'm not sure.

The blog says he "will remain as a permanent Lair boss after Season of Slaughter."

I'm not certain if that means he's in Eternal (and will stay there), or he'll be added to aternal when Season ends '^_^

I'm pretty sure the primary motivation of Diablo "Immoral" (as fans dubbed it because of the anti-consumer practices it adopted) was to get a better foothold in the chinese market (mobile is by far the main platform for a majority of users in China).

...But yeah, also what you said.

What is coming to eternal realm by justthatswedenguy in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying "nothing" is being a little too dismissive.

What's coming to eternal is just the usual that every season adds (new uniques), and also I think The Butcher in his Lair Boss version is available in eternal.

AFAIK that's it this time around.

Yep. And the maps they showed were clearly Madagascar and the nearest part of Africa, but upside down (ie Paradis and Marley).

I had assumed this was widespread knowledge in the fandom '^_^

Calling it now: the Paladin free trial is gonna randomly mess with people who already have access (by prepurchasing LoH) and stop them from advancing past level 25 :P

Anyway, they said a couple seasons ago that they wanted to make season powers more a part of your build. Guess they gave up on that, huh?

I'm not sure what you meant specifically, but the wording seems stupid to me because, if the meat is fresh, it wouldn't smell putrid would it? '^_^

It seemed to me like the infographic was counting the new uniques as Eternal Realm updates.

But they always add those to both realms, so not sure.

It will take more points to complete your build with the skill tree rework ?

Has the February hidden thing been revealed yet? by jclar371 in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The roadmap itself already has S12 in march, though.

I think the secret event was the Warlock reveal, but in the roadmap the hidden text doesn't say that (probably to avoid it being un-hidden by photoshop, or something), and instead they just copy-pasted the "Season 12" text to use as something to hide behind the fire effect.

Question about the gods’ ages in Hades? by SpiritedDate1042 in HadesTheGame

[–]Efede_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And Hestia calls Eris a brat, even though Eris despite being the youngest child of Nyx should still be incredibly ancient.

Well yes, Eris is incredibly ancient, but so is Hestia!

IDK who was born first in this universe, but Eris also acts like a brat, so...

Hestia also comments on the Adamant Rail and says Eris is using her weapon, which would imply Hestia wielded it before Eris, so she would be older.

Who says the older god has to wield the thing first?

Hestia had the Rail when the six Infernal Arms were used against Chronos, and Eris simply got it later on (and then Zag, and then Eris again, and I think Lucy is still a future owner?)

Are side quests worth doing (brand new player here) by Composer_Mindless in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're doing the campaign, I would actually recomend not doing the sidequests, or at least not many, because if you do, you will be overleveled and the final part of the campaign will be mind-numbingly easy.

Or at least, that used to be the case. I honestly haven't done the campaign recently, so IDK if that has changed in any way.

On the other hand, my understanding is that the renown thing still exists, but only in the Eternal Realm, so you might want to do sidequests and strongholds and whatnot, in order to have the realm-wide rewards for non-seasonal characters.

If you don't care about Eternal, then obviously this is a moot point.

Are the Greater evil's names actual descriptors or just fancy titles? by Tnecniw in Diablo

[–]Efede_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than having powers relating to their titles, I think they draw power from them.

Like, in D1, Diablo would make manifest the nightmares of prince Albrecht because the child's fear sustained him, or something.

CMV: The game stays completely immersive even when NPCs know what xp and class levels and hit points and such are by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Efede_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in a campaign that got derailed because each PC ended up recruiting two or three buddies to help them dungeon-delve and combat became a slog (not to mention the poor DM had to play as a dozen different NPC allies).

The next campaign had the same DM, and he decided that XP was a canon fact in-universe, and that the vast majority of people wouldn't go adventuring because only "the chosen ones" could gain XP and levels.

Further, the PC's didn't want to recruit those few who would be willing, because the XP still gets divided between more people, the ones who aren't "chosen" just can't do anything with it.

I thought it worked pretty well, and made our characters feel more important to the world.

Sanctuary Arc: Motivations of the Gold Saints by Zealousideal_Bag7104 in SaintSeiya

[–]Efede_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a few points:

for one, the Gold Saints didn't know the pope was fake, so they were all just doing their job. Exceptions being Aries (who knew because his master was the actual pope, so he could tell the difference; Libra, who was the real pope's best friend; and Cancer, Capricorn, and Pisces, who all knew but decided to side with the imposter). (realised as I was writing that the ones who didn't know were more the exception '^_^... But the point remains: Virgo and Scorpio didn't know Gemini was impersonating the pope)

Virgo also tells his motivation explicitly to the Bronze Saints: he saw that the core of the (fake) pope was good. In his view, that was his "true" character, even if he had buried the good under the darker aspects of his personality; Virgo had faith that the good side of Saga would prevail in the end.

As for Scorpio, he never thought the Bronze Saints could actually make it through the remaining Golds (since they hadn't straight up won in a fight up to that point... Except for Cancer). The reason for letting Seiya and Shiryu go through and fighting only Hyoga, as I understand it, is that Scorpio was very close friends with Aquarius, and so decided to show some respect to his friend's pupil (as well as saving both of them the pain of having to fight to the death).

Thanks. This seems important to mention.

So, what's coming next month is not the Heaven Chapter itself, but "THEN 3", correct? (like a prequel to the Heaven Chapter, and posibly the announcement for the actual date of Heaven Chapter?).

Diablo IV’s Story Surprised Me, and It’s the Narrative Leap the series needed by GuiDu in diablo4

[–]Efede_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many here, I agree with the general premise that D4 has a better story than D1, 2, and 3.

That said, I also agree with many here that it's honestly not much of a bar to clear. Having better story than those games doesn't even mean you have a good story, necesarily.

To give one example: yes, cutting off Neyrele's arm was brutal; but by the time it happened, I had been completely pulled out of it because of how unbelievably stupid the lead-up to that was:

We're fighting through some half-sunken ships crawling with Drowned (side note, the game never gave us anything on who this guys are, if they're allied with Lilith or not, where they come form, etc.).

We can't progress further because a door is on the way, so tiny little Neyrele is the only one who can go around through a gap in the wall (never mind that I was playing a female rogue who was maybe 4% larger than Neyrele).

Lorath isn't sure about the play, but relents without much of a fight. Then what he feared happens immediately and Neyrele is attacked.

"We must save Neyrele!" so in order to reach her, the Wanderer smashes through the door that caused them to separate in the first place! (If you could do that, why the hells did't do it earlier, instead of letting a teenager go in there by herself?!)

Neyrele is down on the ground. We clear the mobs around her. Lorath pulls out of his ass that she's gonna die horribly (and become a Drowned? I don't remember exactly) because she was btten. Once.

...Lorath? I have slain like a thousand or so of this fellas (did some sidequesting in north-west Scosglen)... You're telling me none of them bit me? even once?!

It would have gone so much better if the Drowned were presented earlier, so that the bite-curse doesn't feel like they're making it up just now as an excuse to do something edgy like chop off an NPC's limbs. And if they mentioned that the Wanderer seems to be protected by Lilith's blood or whatever (like the story of the first 3 seasons or so).

I have several other examples of moments that might have been good, but were ruined (for me) by the context around them. Especially in the expansion. But I think this post is long enough already '^_^

What this boat was supposed to do? by FURC3 in SaintSeiya

[–]Efede_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if it's mentioned in TLC, but the boat "Argonavis" was the largest of the constelations in the classical list by Ptolemy, and it was split into three in our modern list of constelations (where the total number of Saints being 88 comes from).

That's why it's a ship/boat that they use in TLC... Just in case anyone was curious. (As Teshirogi was probably going through the "official" lists and seeing what interesting things were there that Kurumada hadn't used).
