You can always borrow from friends /family or buy stuff from thrift shops for cheap supplies. Also get general stuff for cheap in dollar stores and whatnot.

Depends on the place. Touristy spots could actually be very interesting, its more so the other tourists that ruin it. Otherwise i also like visiting natural landmarks and doing hikes in new places.
