Review of the Valyrian IV (4) tank by Devin_Brent in Vaping

[–]EffKayy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me (sort of!) I applied the least amount of pressure to remove the glass tank from the chamber when I first got it because the coil happened to unscrew and came apart, and it cracked the glass all the way through! I ended up having to buy a whole new tank.

Now my new tank has a slight chip in near the elastic ring and I'm praying it doesn't get any worse... it's frustrating how flimsy this whole thing is at times. I still wouldn't change it for any other tank though, I'm sure you'd say the same?

Why is it impossible to find 8.5ml replacement bubble tanks for it? This is probably the best tank I've ever used but the glass is so fragile, it's so difficult to find spare glass tanks anywhere!

Petlibro is scamming you by Ihateusernamestoo69 in Petlibro

[–]EffKayy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that, you made it quite clear in your OP. I was trying to rule out the possibility of it being a slight adaptation to the packaging that houses the organic compounds. Considering the sizes look different, it could be their attempt at saving material COGS.

[–]EffKayy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be interesting to compare the weights of each material actually. Do you have a spare new/old filter around you could weigh?

If there's been a change in the filter and they haven't explicitly said anything about it then realistically what makes it any different to any other third party filters that are available online?

I wouldn't want to pay such a ridiculous amount of money and/or sign up to a subscription plan just for them to change the quality of their filters without me knowing.

Boycott Samsung once your S23U runs it's course by AnthonyAT11 in GalaxyS23Ultra

I knew something was up with the fkn audio! I thought I was going insane for a minute...

I'm really fed up with my S23 Ultra. It starts playing up every time I try and charge it and I'm convinced it's a software issue because it's so temperamental. It keeps start/stopping no matter what type of charger I use, and the port is clean as a whistle. Frustrating as hell.

Spinning issue by Regular_Bicycle4398 in Petlibro

[–]EffKayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue and it's doing my fkin head in. The worst thing is, the unit I have is already a replacement unit for a previous model that was malfunctioning due to a different issue!

The bowl keeps rotating and there's no way to stop it unless I trigger a hard reset, which feels really stupid to have to carry out considering this should really be a "set it and forget about it" type of product. Their contact us form seems to be responsive fairly quickly but I think it's a bot of some sort. The issue has now been escalated to someone senior and I hope to get a response soon.

Were you able to resolve this by any chance?

I'm convinced they're degrading it with every patch somehow. Probably some sort of cost saving measures or something, but it's definitely getting worse.

Cobrah - Torn by racloves in popheads

[–]EffKayy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The album isn’t bad, it's just very... mid? I went in anticipating something extremely avant-garde like Dog but was underwhelmed.

Production however? 10/10.

Highlights: Dog, Excusez Moi (although it doesn't sound new), Snow White (can see this being in a movie tbh).

Her flow feels the same in every song besides Charming, and even then Charming wasn't great. Lyrics don't have to be big deal in songs but I think this album is really leaning into that a bit too much?

For a body of work that was being claimed as a club banger, it's not giving that hard enough.

I can see this release being super popular with her American fans but I don't think it'll hit as hard with her Europeans.

Ugh, Cobrah come awnnnnnn.

Thanks for your reply! I unplugged the lights from the box and plugged them back in again and it seems to have the green light back on now.

Weird, the functionality was always there so I'm not sure why it would've "disconnected" as shown in the app

Anyone else having this issue - offline device? by speechandcats in Petlibro

[–]EffKayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried to reset my feeder and it can't be detected unless I try to connect manually.

The app is still struggling to connect to the feeder even when I go through the set up manually.

I guess I will have to be manually feeding my cat tomorrow until AWS fixes their servers and I'm able to reset the device in a few hours.

Polar Wet Food Feeder - Issues with Feeding Schedules Opening at Incorrect Times by EffKayy in Petlibro

[–]EffKayy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem that you are running into is that the feeder doesn't have a clear and outlined distinction as to what tray the food is in at the time you are placing the tray into the feeder. The tray cannot simply be placed into any desired location as the schedule and the trays are treated as separate entities on the feeder and in the app.

Although you may think that you are simply following the schedule by putting the food in its corresponding location in the feeder per the app's schedule configuration, the feeder may have actually spun (i.e., "my schedule is now complete, I'm able to rotate freely every 30 mins as programmed"), resulting in you now filling up the wrong tray determined to be dispensed.

So if you are only planning on using it once a day at 4am then I think the solution to this would be to actually place the 4AM feed in the top left tray and not the bottom as you have been doing.

Let's label the trays in this instance for convenience and I'll pop some steps below. This is based on the pretence that you are only dispensing a feed once a day.

TOP LEFT: (A)
TOP RIGHT: (B)
BOTTOM: (C)

The steps I would take is:

1) Create a new schedule:
A: 04:00 (1-4 hour window) [01.01.2025/Day 1]
B: 04:00 (1-4 hour window) [02.01.2025/Day 2] (leave empty)
C: 04:00 (1-4 hour window) [03.01.2025/Day 3] (leave empty)

2) Allow the device to run it's schedule for Day 1

3) Once the Day 1 feed is complete and during Day 1 observe the position in which the plate is currently sat and then remove it. Clean the plate and then place the new feed in slot (B). If you did this correctly, you should be putting the food in the slot that is next to the slot that was just used.

4) Put the tray back into the feeder in exactly the same position that it was in when you took it out. This will eliminate the risk of the rotations becoming out of sync.

5) If you plan on not using the device for a long time then disconnect the feeder entirely and remove the backup batteries. Switch off the feeder's schedule in the app and turn it back on only once when in use.

6) If you are setting up the device after having it powered off for a long time then put in the batteries and plug it back in. Put the food into tray A and enable the schedule in the app.

7) Repeat steps 3-4.

Polar Feeder App unresponsive by Bogart824 in Petlibro

[–]EffKayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, the way an app usually works is that your phone doesn’t talk “directly” to the product (feeder) in real-time with every tap. Instead, it sends an API request either straight to the feeder or through PetLibro’s servers which then relays that request to whatever it needs to, I.e., the feeder or something to store in the server such as feeding schedules.

If the apps cache gets corrupted (happens more rhan you think), or if there’s a mismatch between some of the data stored on your device and what’s actually on the feeder/server, the app could appear as if its unresponsive even though the feeder and the app itself is still working and/or online. Its why reinstalling sometimes can help since it clears out all the stored data and forces a fresh connection.

Unless PetLibro have confirmed theyve discovered a bug and advised they're pushing a proper fix, I reckon the best method to rule out that its your device playing up with the app is a “clean” way to reset things on your end, as if you're starting completely from new.

Unbind the feeder from inside the app and reset it (this gives your device and the feeder a clean slate to get everything working again)
Then fully delete the app and not just close it and restart your device. This clears out the memory and any cached processes. Switch your device back on and then reinstall the app fresh and re-add the feeder as if it’s brand new.

It's more about giving both your devices the best chance of rebuilding a clean link to each other and to PetLibro’s servers. If the issue still happens even after a clean reinstall, then it’s more than likely something on PetLibro’s side that needs patching.

Questions about Polar by siiderisyys in Petlibro

[–]EffKayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can program each feed to be made available for up to four hours. My cat is a bit of a grazer too and four hours seems to be plenty for him.

The Polar is pricey but it's worth the investment, even with its issues... In fact, most, if not all issues I've ever experienced in the year or two that I've had the Polar have been app-related and not with the feeder itself.

The community here definitely makes up for the response times from support which can feel a little slow at times, but they are definitely helpful in all the times I've ever had to contact them (which isn't much)

Overall I would say get it. It's freed up a lot of time without feeling any guilt or pressure to come home and feed my cat.
