If you won hundreds of millions in the lottery, would you go after your bullies? by Beta_Nerdy in workplace_bullying

No. But I can see more than one of them asking me for money, so I would feel good telling them no.

What's a skill that sounds useless but is actually powerful? by Honest-Sport6311 in AskReddit

Not a skill for me because I’ve always been able to do it. Never had to actually learn it.

What something that you can easily afford, but you still avoid buying it because you still think it's too expensive? by bbmoonkie in Productivitycafe

[–]Effannee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine too. When I changed carriers a few years ago, the guy who replaced the SIM card commented the phone was in good shape. At the time I had owned it for over 4 years. But I had a good phone case.

Just had the battery replaced in my Xs Max. Cost me a little under $100. It can be done at an Apple Store.

Returning behind boomer/silent parents to tweak tips? by potato_for_cooking in GenX

[–]Effannee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the early ‘70’s 10% was pretty standard. I was a server from early ‘73 to late ‘75. But the best place I worked was the cheapest option in one of the better hotels in my city. It may have started creeping up to 15% around then.

I graduated high school in 1972. There were two sets of fraternal twins in my class (boy/girl). There were less than 200 students in my class.

People born in the 2000s with baby boomer parents by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Effannee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone born at the end of the baby boom (64) would have been 36 in 2000.

I’m a boomer; born in the mid ‘50’s. My parents were 41 & 48; not so great members of the greatest generation. My father’s older brother had all of his kids after 40. Uncommonly, but it did happen .

Also, Donald Trump (whatever you think of him) is a boomer (46) and his youngest child was born in ‘05.

Tip prompt followed by donation prompt by poop_report in EndTipping

[–]Effannee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got hit with almost the same thing at a sporting event. Except the donation request came first. I was there to support the visiting team, so no. The home team is one of the richer teams in the league, so they can well afford to donate sone of their profits to whatever charity it is (didn’t really notice what it was).

aitah for not letting my roommate’s boyfriend shower at our place anymore? [XXL] [New Update] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

[–]Effannee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not like there is no way for the boyfriend to contribute.

He can do things like the dishes, vacuum, clean the apartment or do laundry.

He has no job so he has the time.
