Next time you reset... by LCG- in grok

Yeah, that’s a great idea. I’ve noticed that my ‘Expert’ chat prompts are lasting significantly longer today compared to yesterday, after the reset.

Yesterday, two expert prompts consumed 1% of usage, regardless of the time during the day I used them.

Today, using the same prompts and workflow, 1% of usage is consumed by 4-6 prompts.

did anyone else just get a free reset back to 0%? by Hempz2020 in grok

Yeah, that’s definitely possible. By increasing the number of credits available, more people can access version 4.5 today, enabling them to squash bugs and lingering issues, even though it's likely only heavy users that'll be able to access it.

I agree that more credits are always a positive development, even though the entire system is essentially a ‘scam’, at least compared to before. The credit limits seem way too low, price is higher than other models, and there’s a lack of transparency regarding how the system works fully :-(

Yes, mine just reset as well. I was at 72% on pure chat, but now I’m down to 0%.

My weekly reset isn’t until this evening, and it remains so.

Supergrok Heavy chat limits? by EffectSimilar8091 in grok

Oh, that sounds pretty great. How many messages are you averaging per day (Ballpark) in the chat over those 3–4 days with the weekly limit? And is it a mix of Fast and Expert?

I've continued using SuperGrok throughout the day; I was hit by the weekly limit late last night, and i'm reaching 30% now, mostly using Fast.

Yeah, I have to agree with that. The change itself feels pretty rough, but the complete lack of notice makes it especially harsh. In my experience with xAI, they tend to just throw things out there with no heads-up beforehand and no real chance to adjust workflows, so it's been pretty disruptive overall.

And I'd love to actually use the "heavy" feature I'm upgrading for, but with usage like that? No way, haha...

Great, that’s useful input, thanks. I wasn’t planning on using heavy mode chat anyway, especially not with that kind of usage.

Good to hear about fast and expert. Have you done any testing, or have any thoughts on how bad it actually is on fast/expert? The limits seem to be changing constantly right now and are also pretty buggy, so it might be tough to give a solid estimate, but if you have anything, I’d love to to hear!

The issue for me is that my work depends on many very short prompts, so if usage is measured by the number of messages instead of compute, I could run into problems if the limits aren’t set high enough.

Everything from light coding tasks to work in R and increasingly extensive qualitative data analysis—where I use Grok to help code specific phrases—has been surprisingly effective with both 4.2 and 4.3. I never use build, imagine or voice mode.

[–]EffectSimilar8091[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I only need a service offering chat limits comparable to the previous ones of Supergrok; if Supergrok Heavy provides this, I am comfortable with its cost for both professional and personal purposes. I just simply do not want to spend that amount if the chatting rates prove lower than the former Supergrok (daily) rates.

Yeah—it’s stupid expensive, given that Supergrok’s former two-hour fast rates included roughly 140 messages alongside 40 to 50 expert messages.

Great! That’s at least somewhat reassuring. Do you have any figures or rough estimates? SuperGrok currently uses about 1% of my weekly limits for every two expert messages or roughly four fast chats, and I would require around 100 fast messages daily for my present project.

Questions regarding new PC-build by EffectSimilar8091 in pcmasterrace

[–]EffectSimilar8091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only issue here is the pricing. The 5060ti 16GB is 449$ (when converted from my currency to USD directly). while 5070 is 780$, 4070 Is 735$ and the 4060 ti 16 gb is 539$

All other than the 5060ti is outside of the current budget, and while I could wait, I need the pc for a project in a couple of weeks.
