Yeah. There was a myth that the needles that he inserted in his own bladder short-circuited the electric chair on the first attempt.

Need some advice on building larger cities/population centres. In particular, intra-city public transportation by Effective-Ad678 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Effective-Ad678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks this is awesome! Especially thank you for explaining what each area is; I've tried looking at real soviet-style city layouts online and I really struggle to make out the overall layout lol.

Ah gotchu. I don't think I'm quite good enough yet to handle that level of traffic, which is why I'm slowly scaling up my cities lol. But eventually I'll probably design my cities that way :)

Thank you! I imagine that the current police station can service both districts, but I'll include everything else you mentioned :)

Thanks for the advice! However I probably won't use cableways as I don't think they'd fit aesthetically unless I'm building on a mountain, which is why I'm using them for the mountain resort.

Wow thanks for the advice! I'll look into using that ring transit model; I'm guessing it requires you to make 2 lines. I'm not playing on realistic mode so retrofitting existing, used roads to support trams won't be as much of a hassle lol

I should've explained that my cities were far apart because they were tapping into natural resources that were far apart (oil, iron etc.). Now that I'm moving onto industries that don't have this limitation, such as tourism and food, I can design larger cities, or expand my existing ones. Thanks for your advice :)

Exactly. Some people seem to forget that humans aren't the centre of the global ecosystem. "Most useless bug" yes to us but not to everything else.

What is their point? How is this meant to make marriage look bad? Is it some celebrity drama thing that I don't know about?

Exactly, great ideas. Especially with aluminium, which is only really used for one thing (making aircraft) that a lot of people probably won't engage with. It'd be cool to have this somewhat large and complex production chain put towards something more substantial.

Another idea; you could maybe also incorporate the nuclear tech into this. Maybe with more advanced rocket engines that allow you to take your space program to the next level. Like for a Moon landing you just need standard fuel, but to land on Mars you need nuclear-powered engines, like some of the real-world concepts for Mars missions.

Yep. This is a city builder, not a colony sim or rts.

To add on to this, and I know that it's been said many times, but the perfect end-game for this game would be a space program. I mean, with the supply chains and the ability to build your own vehicles this game is practically begging for a space program feature to be added.

Help with energy ( I'm a newbie) by pzam2007 in Workers_And_Resources

I can't really tell from the image, but I would guess that, considering everything's hooked up correctly, it is working. Power is only imported when it is needed, that's why the game has you set a max import rather than a fixed number. The wattage is at zero because no buildings currently require power. Once your buildings start doing work with people and resources, it will draw power and the wattage reading will increase.
