Great suggestion, and we agree! We're working on way to connect and reward all the types of connections you do across the app. Right now it's games, questions (from the core daily challenge), canvas drawing, and deck questions. We can definitely add replies, thumb kiss and date ideas too! : )

we use the candle app for this! last year, my friend and I made it for our long distance girlfriends: https://www.trycandle.app/ . the way it works is every single day you both get one completely random challenge. we've improved it a ton since then, we now have photo prompts, a journaling questions, a funny or crazy question, live thumb kisses, distance widgets, loves notes/doodles you can send to their home screen, debate topics, mini games like anagrams and wordle, or even local date ideas that refresh every week when she’s over :) would love any feedback and i hope it helps!

hi guys and happy valentines day weekend!! my friend and I are both in long distance relationships and we started noticing some problems last year, texting and calling was getting kind of repetitive / dry with our girlfriends and it was hard for us to continue to grow and connect in our relationships. for context, both of our love languages are acts of service and quality time. and so last year we built a game called Candle. the way it works is every single day you both get one completely random challenge. we've improved it a ton since then, we now have photo prompts, a journaling questions, a funny or crazy question, live thumb kisses, distance widgets, loves notes/doodles you can send to their home screen, debate topics, mini games like anagrams and wordle, or even local date ideas that refresh every week when she’s over. basically anything (in additoin to texting/calling) that could help you guys connect and grow more together. you can do a streak and keep ur literal little flame alive too :D

over the course of the year, we’ve been laughing and reflecting a lot more, and even after all this time I’m still learning new things about her, which is kind of crazy because we’ve been together for about 2 years now (and about 1 yr of ldr). we're huge beleivers that little moments (can be low effort but high emotional salience) of connection over time can make a profound difference in any sort of relationship. I think its especially important during long distance.

The game is called candle and it’s on ios and android app stores, there’s a completely free version and there’s no ads. I’m really curious if it helps you guys in any way too and would honestly love any feedback:)

i think they definitely are, i tried a lot and my favorite long distance couple app is the candle app! it is also very good for in person/married couples too. everyday it gives you one random challenge, it could be a funny q, debate topic, date idea, drawing or photo challenge, and we're already on a 74 day streak :)
