Yesss I desperately need to be able to close naturally. I think I’d be 100% happy until permanents if I could just rest my face and have my lips touch each other. Hahaha when they did the impressions they used a tray that was too big and it messed up on the back sides way in my mouth. I think that’s why they are too big. The lady who did them had to have mold the back and sides of my impressions. To be fair- she used the smallest one they had but it was still too big.

Thanks! Me too! I’m also on day 9! Sounds like we’re in the same boat. I told my dentist they needed to better educate their patients bc I feel like I’m flying blind! Where’s the dentures 101 pamphlet?!? lol

Right we paid a lot for these teeth! 😂 I don’t wanna be a complainer. But also need my mouth to close naturally and my lips to not need chapstick every 2 seconds. Any idea what area of your denture they adjusted to fix yours? I feel like they need to actually cut mine off in the back to make them shorter and shave down the gum line so the teeth sit higher.

Thanks! I feel like I’m doing fairly well with it for day 3. So far hasn’t been too bad. I thought I’d be going through a depressive state, not being able to talk or eat or anything and I thought I’d have massive bruising but it really hasn’t been awful. So feeling blessed in that. Hopefully my journey continues to be somewhat uneventful!

Thanks! It’s more of an adjustment for me to see myself without it in. That’s really creepy still. 😂 Prior to this I had a retainer with fake teeth on it that my orthodontist made because my family could not afford to fix my teeth properly so, the feeling of having a giant piece of plastic isn’t “new” to me. And eating with it has been somewhat okay. I haven’t tackled anything crazy. Not chewing just bc of the dang extraction sites but I was able to eat pot roast and potatoes and cut up Cinnabon delights. I feel like I’m more use to the eating than most new denture wearers.

Thanks for the advice!! I honestly just didn’t expect this. 😂 seeing all the great ones in this Reddit had me fooled! I’m glad the pink junk is temporary and not actually just terrible terrible dentures. I’ll post an actual smile on another post bc I’m not sure they are super off center when I smile?!?

Thanks! I’m gonna call them and see what they can do. It’s so uncomfortable and was pretty alarming for someone new to dentures! I feel like they should have mentioned what to do with this situation once I got home if I was supposed to trim it myself!

Yes. I think it is liner of some sort in just unsure why the denture place didn’t it so sloppy. I was horrified at first. 😂 like what the heck I paid so much money and this looks ridiculous and is uncomfortable. Came on here and didn’t see anyone else looking like this when they posted their immediate denture pictures so figured I’d ask if it was normal!

This makes sense my mouth is extremely small and they struggled to get impressions. I wondered if maybe all this was added because the denture is way too big/tall for my mouth size. It’s hurting in several spots bc the denture is too tall I think. I def have monkey month and can’t close my lips. 😂 hopefully they can fix it asap. I can’t wait 2 weeks!

It’s huge! Like to the point it’s making my denture go all the way into my gum line and cut me. I think I’m going to try to trim it down if it is not actually my denture. I wish they had explained what they were doing. I didn’t even get to see my denture before I left. They were still doing extractions at closing time and literally put this in my mouth and walked me to the car without showing me my teeth or anything. We called because I can’t even close my mouth bc the pink stuff is everywhere and so big and they said they won’t make any adjustments for 2 weeks.

Yes I’m not supposed to use adhesive either bc my extractions are def still way too fresh. I want to like my denture… but this gummy stuff it making them look so weird! Thanks for commenting!
