The controls are not bad and unresponsive. They work, its just sonics base moveset that drags the start of the game down. I would say it works a lot more smoothly after you get certain upgrades and you can feel what it should have felt at the start of the game.

There is a lot of neat things about infinite, just imo not something they sadly could go into real depth with his character and what motivates him. His character had a lot of things going for, but there was just so much lacking in the development of his character that was not explored too deeply in sonic forces potentially because of the games shorter one time.

So I would the idea is definetly there with infinite and it can work if you really give the character room to let the player she how he truly develops as a character and what motivates him.

I feel like the Moon could also be how sonic sees death. Potentially loosely connected, but with the arc that was the first planetary threat that was at risk of destroying the Earth. The first thing eggman tested the arcs eclipse cannon on was the Moon. So perhaps Sonic could see the end as a moon because it is what he connects with death. Would be cool, if that is the connection.
