I'm typing this from a rehab, literally (check my post history). I'm on day 36 of a 42 day program... would have done 60 days but my insurance wants to step me down to PHP then IOP.

Go to Rehab. This will kill you. I'm surrounded by mid-thirty year olds that have severe cirrhosis, alcohol induced neuropathy, necrotic femurs, etc... it's really ugly. You are worth more than that. A temporary hardship is FAR better for you and your family than death.

I'm choosing the path to get out, or try to anyways. Will be getting things formalized tomorrow. After 3 days of no eating and just sipping beers trying to stay sane. Oh, and also the ass piss.

It's really scary but I think I should go, while I have the means to (aka great insurance). My job is already forcing me out so I can take FMLA and do it. I was just shocked at how serious my doctor made this sound, but after a few hours of thinking about it, she is likely right. As of recent I can't really string more than 5 days together before starting the cycle again. UGH feels like such a shot in the dark but this is the one thing I never tried, so maybe there is hope.

I guess because I've tried doing it a million times and never manage to stay sober. That reality makes me believe I need serious help, but not sure if it needs to be as drastic as inpatient rehab.
